chickenlass
Has anyone used the above product at all??/ I have been recommended some to help prevent redmite. Would be interested to hear if anyone has used it pleased.
Snowy
I have some but don't know if it works or not. You can either dust with it to prevent mites or add it to food to prevent worms. I do both occasionally, but also worm with flubenvet and dust with barrier red mite powder. Never seen any evidence of worms or mites but couldn't say which product is responsible! (that wasn't much use at all was it? )

Guest
I use it on a regular basis, and have found it effective against most common beasties. The chickens get it sprinkled in their dustbath, and food, and I've never had problems with redmite or worm etc since I started to use it. It's also very handy for using on flea-ridden kittens, that are too young for conventional flea treatments!
chickenlass
That sounds very encouraging then! Thanks for the replies will give it a bash [haven't got red mite and don't want it]
arowland17
I think I might order some myself as I've been wondering what to get to prevent mites / worms / lice etc and could end up getting so many things (these chickens are turning into very expensive pets!!) but if this seems to prevent all of the nasties it's worth a go, I'll order it later off omlet I think! arowland17
roughly how long does the 100g pot sold by omlet last???
superjules
I'm quite liberal with mine because I bought a big 5kg tub from our local poultry/garden centre for £35 (although I've seen it for £23.50 at the link below, but I wanted it quickly). At Omlet's prices, all you'd get for £23.50 is 470g!! http://www.flytesofancy.co.uk/acatalog/Diatom_Parasite_Control__10kg_.html
Olly
I'm sure mine came from Omlet, I use it every time I clean the Eglu (approx every 4 weeks) and there's still some left - you don't need a lot. Don't know if it works, but I haven't had any red mite so far.

feemcg
I bought 5kg from flytesofancy and put it their feeders every day - if you buy 5kg from omlet it'll cost you £
