How many hybrids in an Eglu Cube?

Hi there,
I'm new to hens and all things that go with them. I'm wondering if any of you can help me with what seems like a silly question. I'm going to be getting some ex-batt hens and torn between the Eglu Cube or the Eglu Go Up. I'll be getting no more than 4 and initial thoughts would be the Go Up, is it going to be big enough? Has anyone got 4 hens in the Go UP?

Get the mark 1 cube (much better build) there are loads listed on eBay, and see if you can get a couple of run extensions too so that they have plenty of room. Bear in mind that they will be confined to the run for the first 2 weeks, while they build up a homing instinct, and also if you are out all day or next winter, when they may well be in the run 24/7. The run comes in 1 metre increments and you need an absolute minimum of 1sq metre per hen, but preferably twice that.

Yes. Preloved Mark 1 cube is sturdy and roomy.  I have two aged between 12 and 15 years and apart from the green one fading, they are pristine.  Very good value for money if you can find one.

A Go Up coop is snug for 4 full sized hens. The standard run is definitely too small, you would need more than one extension.

The cube mark 2 is also quite a bit smaller than the mark 1, and the plastic is different - brittle.

A Go Up would definitely be too small for 4 full sized hens - as said above a second hand Cube mk 1 is a great choice
