chocchick
Thought about trying it as an experiment on - but since I'm still struggling to persuade them to recognise me I decided against it.I love you lot..... and that's not just the red wine talking You want to home school your ?! Hopefully the cake and wine would be in the middle of the group. Sarah (Cinnamon), based on your posts so far, I struggle to see how you could actually have offended anyone. Omlet is very nice, hadn't joined any forums previously as I had a narrow view of people deceiving others, and of it being antisocial. Luckily Omlet has people and meet up, so it must be social, right? Have to leave forum occasionally to talk to non-Omlet people.
Lesley
Are there any non Omlet people left?
Mrs Frugal
This is always my forum of choice. You know everyone is going to be nice and friendly here. It's special.
Louise
This isn't really a forum for eglu owners, chicken nuts & self-sufficiency enthusiasts, is it?! It's insomniacs anonymous!!! Yeah and I think I am going onto nights on the 20th Feb so I won't be alone all night
Guest
I have visited a few others and still lurk in RC and Mrs.L's. RC can be scary and I've been verbally bitten a couple of times I quite like a browse around Mrs.L's. - it's a useful forum, rather than a chatty forum. Everyone here is so much nicer! Hence the reason I don't go onto Mrs L's after a few wines!

chocchick
Are there any non Omlet people left? There are people outside the omlet forum such as at work. It is scarey I know, and they don't keep chickens!

Lesley-Jean
There are people outside the omlet forum such as at work. It is scarey I know, and they don't keep chickens! WHY I thought every sane person kept chickens

The Dogmother
I know, I can't believe how some people look at me strangely when I'm going on about the chooks It's so weird! I have to make sure not to go one too much at work
ali-s
I don't talk about my Chickens at work either, except when I put my hand in my pocket and pull out an egg which I have taken from the nextbox and then gone straight to work Went back to work yesterday after being off with a nasty cold Of course according to work mates I have had bird flu They could be right as I have started sneezing again today
chocchick
I get asked ALL the time if they have laid an egg yet. As well as comments about bird flu. It is just friendly teasing though.
Lesley
You only have to look in RC Chat section at a topic called 'Ban the Chat' to see how friendly it is here ........... probably because this is a closed forum If this became an open forum, I'd probably just browse occasionally as I do with RC. I don't mind healthy debate about things but being 'mauled' over there isn't much fun
Mrs Frugal
I'm dreading this becoming an open forum. I hope James doesn't take the leap as it's so daunting on some of the other forums. I'll go kicking and screaming if he does !
Nicola H
If this becomes an open forum I won't hang around, the only reason I post on the forum is because it is closed and only like minded people use it..................Just look at Practical Poultry. Cate in NZ
I feel much the same as all of you. I dislike the idea of being exclusive, and didn't like the nasty comments made in the RC eglu debate (I think) about us being an exclusive kind of clique with our eglus and closed forum, but on the other hand I love this forum just as it is, simply because we do seem to have a lot in common, we can have a laugh and be supportive to each other during tough times, excited at each others good times, and offer a wealth of advice on almost every topic. And, I feel safe here, no-one's going to start an angry debate if I say something that they disagree with. I do visit a few other forums, but tend to watch, posting very rarely and no where is as friendly as here On the whole I'd much prefer this remained a closed forum, although I like the idea of guests being able to come and visit for a while. Not tried Dan's BMX forums though- I'm not into bikes, but with him at the helm I'll just bet there's some very funny threads over there
Lesley-Jean
I completely agree Kate A. It is the nature of this forum which has been its biggest draw to me It is not just a forum for eglu owners as there are members who have noeglu and at least one who does not even keep chickens. It is the friendly and helpful nature of all of the members that make it brilliant. Long may it remain so
Night Nurse
I used to post occasionally on The Archers forum - In the end I stopped, as a lot of the posters had a lot of er......'baggage'....there was a lot of flouncing, tearful postings and severe moderation....me and a couple of the saner people on there now chat through another medium....(and no, not a seance...) None of us would survive 10 minutes on many of the BBC forums - one of the things they disapprove of the most is going 'off topic'....... And of course, we never do that on here, do we???? Night Nurse
Hi, Kate - nice to see you...I get on here so seldom when other people are up - however, did have a quick chat with Mel the other morning at about 5.30am!
