I finished yesterday hurrah! So I'll have lots more time to catch up on here until the daily grind begins again on the 2nd (although I do love my job) it's just nice to have a break!...although I do have a piece of coursework lingering...

Isn't it just the best not having to make butties every night? I really detest doing that.... I delegate it to hubby

 

I hate making sandwiches it is boring & tedious and what's more I don't really like them, all that lunch box washing, bread slicing, deciding on non boring fillings, finding enough crisps and cake aaahhhh phew no more for a fortnight.

why can't I do quotes properly I just avoid it most of the time I have read all the how to do it stuff but is never works grrr.

 

When you have deleted the stuff you don't want to quote do you leave in the quote word in brackets and are you meant to do any thing with the quote box next to the underline box? mine always come out without boxes round them and the words quote at each end

You click the quote button at the top of the post that you want to quote, then delete all extraneous text, leaving the bits inside the brackets untouched.

 

So it should look like this... without the*

The bits in the brackets contain the code to turn it into a quote, so they need to be left alone.

Make sure that the text you want to quote has

at the beginning and

at the end.

If you just press the quote button this will happen automatically & you can then just delete any text you don't want to quote. I always preview my posts too, as I am hopeless at typing!

Same with the fuel industry! CTB finishes Christmas eve then has to go to bed at 8pm Christmas Day to get up for work at 3am Boxing Day

yep same here - hubby is starting 2am. so he will go to bed about the same time. he never grumbles though - he says he likes work (think he likes to get out of my way!! )

That's very thoughtful, thank you Chocchick Unfortunately, Sheffield is a bit far for me. I have some experience with linux, though, so if you hear of anything nearer here, I would be glad to know.
