craftyhunnypie
They have them on the shelves at Waitrose & Woolies & the prices this year are terrible! I shall spend my money on things that will last longer & mean more. Emma.x
Guest
Yep we went over to the village shop in the next village this morning to get the paper. James always spends AAAAGGGEEESSS choosing a sweetie, the woman always comes up with suggestions.. The Cream Eggs were there on the counter and she said "won't be long till Easter now". hrrrmph I did reply at least they aren't battery eggs like the others you sell, she informed me the others are local eggs - I said yes, local battery eggs. She had never looked at the box where it says "eggs from caged hens".

That'll be new chickens for Easter then Ooh that just reminded me, when I was little we always went to stay with my grandparents in North Yorkshire at every holiday, and grandad always bought 50 1 day old chicks for Easter. I used to spend most of my time in the incubator hut with them (it was warm and fluffy in there!)

She had never looked at the box where it says "eggs from caged hens". now that she knows, did she say she'd do anything about it? Just wondered. MY DH's parents have a little general shop and I got into trouble with them recently when I sent that firework petition to them on e-mail, as they sell them. They had a quiet word with DH and told him to ask me not to send them anything like that again..."doesn't she realise it's our livelihood?"!!!! I know they sell eggs but I think they're free range but I daren't ask! I just use the subtle approach and keep on about how terrible battery farming is etc.
Guest
Its not her shop but when I next see Ash, the owner I'll mention it. This is a shop in an affluent area and its not cheap 95p for their battery eggs. Its the kinda shop where people only buy food if they have run out of something, its main business is newsagents/post office.
