Rona
Thank you all for your caring messages and kind thoughts when you heard the news about Ryan. Thoughts and prayers are very powerful and it all helps to give us strength to get through this dreadful time. Ryan has many lovely friends in Dubai and they were all there to support us. Although there were tears there was also plenty of laughter as we remembered the funny things he used to do and say and everyone seemed to have a happy story to tell about him. The girls in his office set up a memorial page for him on a website called www.gonetoosoon.co.uk and this is such a lovely thing to do as people all over the world can go to it and leave memories and photos or light a candle. We still have a lot of red tape to get through and arrangements to make but even if we have to go back again it is better to be back home in the meantime. The girls were very well behaved and my neighbour is now fluent in chicken speak. His wife and daughter want some chickens but he says he will wait until he is retired - I think they will keep working on him so hopefully the girls will have some neighbours soon. I have had a wander around the forum but without being logged in and it does help to be able to ‘listen’ to conversations without having to join in. Please don’t worry about having to be careful or sensitive in anything you say, regarding Dubai, medical facilities there or even santas on camels. I consider myself extremely blessed to have had Ryan as my son for 34 years and and I will think of him and probably talk about him every day but thank you all for being such lovely considerate people.
