buffie
I thought you'd like to see this lovely story. I had a call from this military prison because they have connections with Jimmy's Farm and I go with the stall. They wanted hens... So now they have some lovely girls living a fab life with them and helping to rehabilitate http://www.army.mod.uk/news/newsroom/2008/march/01_09/military_home_for_ba.htm BBx
WitchHazel
that's really great Buffie, thank you for sharing. I saw an episode of Jimmy's Farm where they took animals (can't remember of it was pigs or cows now) over to that place. What a great follow up. Guest
Jean was telling us about "her boys" as she refers to the soldiers there - she was amazed at how they lifted a crate-full of chickens each without breaking a sweat! - then compared them to the creaking, grunting, puffing volunteers in her Essex Rescue team... (sorry KateA!) She has also homed one of her cockerells there so the soldiers have a cockerell too... any excuse - and jean is back to visit!
