KimW
Last night my chickens and also my dad's ones in his garden went to bed really early (about 5pm). It wasn't even getting dark and they seemed to go in really early compared to other evenings. Did anyone else notice their chooks do this last night? Anyone know why last night was different to any other night?
peanut12
it was St Patrick's Day. Perhaps they were having a party in the coop and you weren't invited

Chicken Licken
Mine were out until I shooed them in. Obviously they then had a St Patrick's Day celebration in the green eglu!!
BarbaraJ
Mine are usually in by 5-6pm before its dark just dusk!
Bondinho
Mine are the same, they all wander in to bed about 5ish most days even when they are free ranging. Weird!
Egluntyne
Mine too. They are supposed to wend their way home at dusk as they don't see well once the light has dropped to a certain level.
redfrock
I must admit I have noticed the same this week. The only difference is that they are now in their cubes. Wonder if they want to get up the ladder before it gets too dark?!? The thing is, whereas in the eglu they roasted immediatly, now they sit peering out of the cube for a while, surveying their land

Egluntyne
Flubenvet isn't organic...but it works well. Verm-X..which is herbal...I'm not sure about organic....doesn't seem to be as effective....but is has its fans.
