The Dogmother
Goes to show the 'normal' content of papers like the mail doesnt it OI! Nowt wrong with the Mail, Bron. Given the time and choice I prefer the Indy or Torygraph, but I don't get enough time to read them, so the Mail suits the time I have. I guess we all have different tastes. *shrugs*
bronze
I said like the mail... to be honest I dont like most of the papers because they all put their slant on things. Some more so than others thats all I'm just a cynical sceptic and it won't change until I find that these papers are printing stories that are correct. but it does say something if you can't spot the april fool! The Dogmother
It's a well known fact that the only true and accurate fact in a newspaper is the date on the top of the page. Apart from the Reuters online service, most news services are very biased... I used to be married to a journalist, so I know what it's like. I think we all use whatever news sources suit us best. I'm very busy and never get any time at home to read the paper properly - the Mail suits me because i can skim through it quickly. I never watch TV, and only get a news bulletin on the radio in the morning, so the Mail suits me fine. When I;m on hols and have more time, I get the Indy, Guardian or Torygraph. Blackrocksrock
The best spoof was the one on the omlet forum! Spotted it very early this morning- had my post deleted as it was too early to say April Fool! Was a very good one too.
Guest
I've just read next week's Radio Times. At the back there is a cynical article about comedy on Radio 4 in which it says that the Mighty Boosh started on Radio 4 in 1967. I was shocked because I didn't think Noel Fielding could possibly be that old - looked him up and he isn't!! So I don't know quite what to make of it! Only some people buy RT on a Tuesday and I'm sure most will read it later in the week - so was this a joke, a R4 comedy or just stupid? Not sure who the joke is on! Probably me! Popcorn
It's great to have a bit of lighthearted fun for a day, on the TV and in the Papers. I thought the guys on TV deserved BAFTA's for their performances! They must have had a real giggle over it all. Good to see some humour about. Basset
I'm such an idiot!! I listened to the newstory about greyhounds racing on ice and wear mini ice-skates. I thought it was rather ridiculous and wondered how the dogs would wear the skates , but didn't twig is was an April Fools!!!!!
UkButton
I understand that our local radio station was broadcasting that they will be changing the area phone code Our accountant believed it! One of the delegates on our course today came in this morning up in arms about this! We let her down gently... Oh for the days of the school yard again

Helly Welly
The Independent said Gordon Ramsey was going to stop swearing and fine any customers who swore!! There was also a BMW ad for a Canine Protection System which gave a mild electric shock to any dog which peed on its wheels.

I saw the penguins one later in the day how anyone fell for it I'll never know. The cgi was rubbish.
