Lesley
I just realised that i was so busy being rude to Martin about being in here that I forgot I shouldn't be here either - it doesn't say "over 30's" or even "over 50's" But then I'm not the only one who shouldn't be here There are at least 2 others

Twiglet
Just got onto this thread - Yes Yes Yes Yes!!!! I have a copy of this on 12" vinyl in my loft. (with picture cover) It was THE bestest record of it's time. I also have lots of similar type singles as this was definitely my era (am 44 now) did lots & lots of clubbing in my 20's with friends in Solihull & Birmingham. Gosh. *brings back memories* Do you remember these..... White Lines- Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel? (heard this recently actually) Just be Good to me - S.O.S Band The Model - Kraftwerk ooooh loads I could mention.... got them all stored safely in boxes in the loft. My lost youth..... Guest
Looks like my theory was right, it does seem that only people from the Midlands knew of this song. We were really spoiled for choice with music then. Disco was around, then punk, Ska, New Romantic (also loved Human League, had my hair like Phil Oakey) Adam and the Ants. Ahhhh the good old days I remember going out wearing a bright pink pair of balloon baggy trousers and a purple silk shirt and I had dark blue hair I thought I looked fantastic PS I was really into Gary Numan8) . I saw him in 1978 at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton. He was supported by OMD. He was brilliant. It was my first live gig P PS Loved that song by the SOS Band,
Chicken on a mission
I must be about 5 years younger than you. For me it was bleach blonde fringes which we then dyed every coulor under the sun and I seem to vaguely remember a coloured stying mouse for our big 80's hair? If anyone remembers what it was I'll be grateful Winkle pickers, pencil skirts and pinstriped skin-tight jeans with leg warmers were all the rage
Cinnamon
Just caught up with this thread. I was a real 80's child & heavily into New Romantics. I remember wearing pink knickerbockers & buckle shoes with a white frilly shirt, too much white foundation & very black eye make-up.Topped off with orange frizzed-out hair,I must have looked a sight I also had some pixie boots, & always wanted an Adam Ant style military jacket (didn't they come back into fashion last year?) I don't remember this record, but I do remember a song by Blue Rondo a la Turk called Klatco Vie Stedstien - anyone else?
jojo
Oh yes, pixie boots!!! I wanted some like Limahl from Kajagoogoo wore... a blue one and a green one. I even found them in the shop he got them from, but sadly my paper round wages would not stretch to one pair let alone two! I had the hugely baggy trousers though. :lol Cinnamon, I remember the band Blue Rondo, but not that song.
Cinnamon
Great avatar Jo I also remember growing one little chunk of hair really long at the back & plaiting it. It looked really stupid as I am curly & it looked like a piggys tail
Trish
My brother did that. Then he dyed his hair black and decided to have a go at dying the pig tail white, very trendy. Have forked out for the black dye though his finances were a little stretched so without mum knowing he chose to dye the pigtail in neat bleach We laughed like mad when he later showed us the little frizzled, but very white, ends left at the back of his head. The rest fell off
jojo
Heehee, I tried growing a tail too... my best friend had a really long one and I was so jealous I cut hers off when we were getting on the bus one afternoon I never confessed, and to this day she doesn't know who did it!!!
