Thunder Storm!

Recommended Posts

I am getting better at storms.

I used to be terriied of them, but not wanting to show my fear to my children has made me be braver & I actually quite enjoy them now.

The best I saw was in Cephallonia.

It was a perfect fat thunderhead, over a bay, with lightning poking out of it every few seconds, & was truly spectacular....all of the apartment residents came outside to watch it :D

We all love watching storms.

The biggest and most spectacular we ever saw was a few years ago in Florida when hurricane Katrina was just off one coast and another major storm was just off the other.

We were stuck in Home Depot as the security staff wouldn't let anyone out of the doors for safety reasons. There was forked lightening everywhere. The store got hit so many times that they lost mains electric and the primary and secondary generators. The best bit was a ball of lightning rolling across the car park.... pretty cool really

Really heavy rain here late afternoon and evening, amazingly after school pick up time but the older 2 got caught in it on the way home and came in dripping

The chooks took themselves back to the run, so I thought that they were sensible and I could shut the gate later when the rain eased. I looked out 3o minutes later to see them standing huddled under the picnic bench soaked to the skin. Silly girls so I then went out to give them some corn and shut the gate, Bertha bok boked in terror at the sight of my big Monet umbrella

The storm in the US sounds amazing but scary 8)
