4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hooray! Today is the day I get my new girls. One gold laced wyandotte & one gold legbar. Very exciting. Picking mum up at 10, sister at half past & stopping at Ludlow first for a bite to eat.

My sister will love it, she may even buy some hatching eggs. I can't this time as timing would be all wrong - I'd be on holiday during hatch.

Oh well, I'm certain my new girls will be gorgeous. Had to laugh though, as I was expecting them 6 weeks old. I must have miss heard when I ordered them, as they are 16 weeks! At least I get eggs sooner.

Hubby spent most of yesterday finishing off his enclosure, I'll post photos later today or tomorrow. It's fab.

What a nice day for an outing too. Maybe I'll see some Omleteers there?

Oh if i'd have known you could have come to our 'Organic BBQ' We only 15 mins drive from Wernlas. Fantastic place, the owners wrote a peice on chickens last week for village paper.

I'm still waiting for my new girls (not due until July-ish) but the breeder said I can email him in May for an update. I just trying to see how far into May I can wait

What a wonderful day we had! We called at Ludlow first & went De Greys tearoom. Very nice! Had a little wander round Ludlow. Then off to Wernlas. Looked round the pens again. Mum fell in love with the Seabrights. My sister bought 3 silkies which are 4 days old - they are very cute with bouffant hairdos!

Then my 2 lovely new girls were put in their box - so beautiful - fantastic markings. Then we headed back. Called at my sisters, so she could put her silkies in her brooder. Then back to mine.

They were very wary at first of their new home, but soon ate & accepted sweetcorn, eventually daring to venture outside. They enjoyed a bit of evening sun & later went in themselves & have perched for the night on the balcony rail of the upstairs of the playhouse coop. Bless them, they look so comical.

Both are 18 weeks old. I now have the problem of fitting them into my signature!
