little chickadee
Hi We've just had a warning from our allotment neighbout that there's going to be a sharp frost Tuesday night. We can't find any low temperature warnings on any of the sites apart from the Gardener's world one, which does have a frost warning. Does anyone know how accurate the site is and is anyone else going to frantically cover up all the plants they've just planted?
TAJ
Countryfile (BBC1 Sunday 11 - noon) always has a good week long weather report in the last 5 mins - or watch it on I-Player later. Tracy
AnnieR
The bbc news - early this morning issued a warning too, It said there will be a grass frost tonight, and a more severe ground frost on Monday and Tuesday. (I really don't know what the difference is tho') Annie.
TAJ
Grass frost is very much on the surface, ground frost means the soil will also be frozen - a harder typr of frost. Tracy

Egluntyne
It is so cold here this am that I am sitting at the computer with 2 jumpers over my pyjamas and a scarf round my neck. I refuse to have the heating on as it is nearly June. There were signs of a frost on the grass earlier.

Mrs Frugal
We've just nipped over to the lottie to wrap our borlotti beans up nice and warm for the night - just in case! I'd hate to find them all shrivelled and black next time we went over .
little chickadee
Well, we've looked at lots of weather forecasts and decided to be on the cautious side. Potatoes are covered. Borlotti beans are fleeced and we just remembered about a little polytunnel I won in a competition which we've put over the tomatoes. Fingers crossed everything else is ok. I've had such fun pootling in the garden this year.
Christian
OH called up the stairs, as I was getting ready for bed last night, that there was a frost warning. I had to start wrapping tomato plants on fleece at 11pm in my dressing gown Not risking it tonight, everything is well wrapped just in case

Lesley
Carl must have heard the evening weather forecast on his way past the TV as I was watching it whilst on the forum...............next thing, he'd lit the fire I was already wearing a T Shirt and fanning myself as I was warm - the heating was on low....... I'm only doing greenhouse tomatoes this year after losing all my plants to blight last year, so no wrapping to do here. We could always have brought them in to sit in front of the fire
