Very poorly children

Recommended Posts

2 of my children have bad diarrhoea, what a way to spend half term :(

It started with sickness on Monday which cleared up within 12 hours and we thought great only a quick bug but it has developed from there. DS has spent the last 2 days asleep, he looks a bit perkier today but everything is going straight through. YD has got bad tummy pain and blood traces, the duty doctor is calling me soon hopefully.

I think it must be a rotavirus thingy.

My washing machine can't keep up, I can't remember either of them having anything like this before. I remember ED having something similar when she was about 9 months old, they are 9 and 12.

Up to now the rest of us are ok but I'm not holding out much hope. We are all supposed to be going to the Wychwood music festival on Saturday so fingers crossed for quick recovery and no one else going down with it. I have never spent so much time washing my hands, cleaning, washing my hands, cleaning door handles, washing my hands, washing, washing, washing :(

Also my mum is supposed to be having an operation on her broken shoulder today to pin it all back together and I haven't heard a dicky bird from my dad who was ringing the hospital at 10.30 this morning and she was first on the arm list apparently they do legs first. I daren't ring in case of blocking the phone for the duty doctor and the hospital for him and he won't use his mobile :(

Hey ho the only way is up, I feel better for a rant, sorry about the graphic details

oh Liz, what an awful lot to cope with. I hope "Ooops, word censored!"ody else catches it and then you can at least have a nice weekend.

Your mum's op might be taking longer than planned, they said I'd be in for 2 hours, I was in for 4. Or the surgeon may have been delayed, don't worry.

Sending you lots of positive thoughts and healing karma

Oh, how awful for you. I absolutely HATE D&V bugs. Even when I'm perfectly fine, I start to feel queasy just thinking about it. I think I'm starting to get a bit of a phobia as whenever I hear of a bug going round, I'm sorely tempted to force all the family to stay in the house until it has 'passed through'! Personally, I would rather have a severe dose of 'flu than a 24-hour tummy bug! I do hope you manage to avoid getting it yourself. What could be worse than trying to look after two poorly children than looking after two poorly children when you are also laid low?

Took YD to the doctors - he was not a good advert for healthy living looked like a cross between Benny Hill and the guy who plays Harry Potter uncle in the films

He told us to give some imodium instants which are not normally recomended for under 12's but she is pretty tall and robust for her age. She had one when we got home as did DS and they have both been pretty much ok since. She looks a lot better today but still hasn't eaten much.

The rest of us are still ok and my mum had her op. and although sore and groggy yesterday is glad to be on the road to recovery.

Loads of cleaning and washing on the list for today then hopefully Wychwood tomorrow. :D The weather forecast also now looks much better for tomorrow :D

Thanks everyone for you kind commiseration :D
