Chicken on a mission
eBay is amazing! I have had 52 hits in 3 hours on my Little Tikes 8 in 1. Within 10 mins some cheeky get had offered me £120. Do I look that green Doing a quick search revealed that they had sold 7 in the last month for more than £225 The amount of second hand computer items my hubby has sold over the years for more than he paid for them has to be seen to be believed. Does anyone have any good eBay stories to share?
Guest
We found a load of old nintendo games last year, that someone had given us for the boys, and we had promptly put it in the attic. We put them on eBay, and soon found out that one was extremely rare, and sold that one alone for £74, with the rest making £20 between the 5 of them. Chicken on a mission
I agree Martin. I found my eglu on there. It was very expensive but it was exactly what I wanted + extras and it was close to me. Haven't been any more that close to me since. Aunty e
I'm planning on selling mine when the MK3 comes out so we can have more chooks, and I'm really torn. I would like to sell mine to someone virtuous and deserving on the forum, but eBay does get you more money...we may have interested a few people in it enough that they will buy it. Mind you, as we're not selling the chooks, not so much of a worry if it goes to mean people. I just feel stupidly sentimental about it. Also I worry about the poop tray. I still keep things behind it since Judy, but it may be that it is fine. I can still rattle it loose if I try, and I think that any determined fox could too. Meh. Cinnamon
I am a long-term eBayer & love it to bits! When we remodelled the house I got rid of so much stuff. Its funny how the more hideous the item, the more money it seems to go for I had a thimble collection & about 60 of those went to Japan & America We have sold all sorts of stuff, from cars & bikes to cuddly toys & unwanted gifts (we get a lot of those from Hubbys parents ) In my office now I have a big pile of summer clothes that are outgrown, all ready to be listed at the end of this month My Eglu will go on there too when the mk3 comes out (hint, hint)
AnnieP
So am I Sarah. I used to collect Wade Whimsies as a child and found them all last year in my Mum's loft. Listed them all and made over £500!! Its amazing what you can buy and sell on there! I love it!
Tamsin
I agree Martin. I found my eglu on there. It was very expensive but it was exactly what I wanted + extras and it was close to me. Haven't been any more that close to me since. My Eglu came from ebay to. Some one thought they had got it then just before the end of the auction (couple of seconds) I did a quick bid, so they wouldnt have enough time to bid again AND I GOT IT

Selling on eBay could result in you being responsible converting another person to the delights of the eglu. The exposure you get is fantastic so even those that don't buy could be converted. I love my girls and the eglu so much. I found out about omlet and was converted by the previous owner (we visited before deciding to bid) through eBay. In less than 24 hours I have 27 watchers on my climbing frame which is great going
Jacky
we buy quite a lot of stuff from ebay. I have a lovely dinner service that went out of production a few years back but was able to replace some of the plates etc on ebay. kannie
I've never done it - is there a simple 'how to' guide somewhere? Is it a lot of work? Does it mean you get loads of spam coming through afterwards?
Martin B
No it doesn't. I f you look on http://www.ebay.co.uk there is a "how to" guide on the homepage!
Hellcat
Anyone remember 'Frogger'? It was one of the first hand held space invader type games. My dad found my brothers one in the loft and - it still worked! Stephen sold it for a princely sum on ebay to a space invaders afficionado on ebay. Chicken on a mission
I still think ebay is great. I sold a little tikes climber for £60 more than we bought it for 3 years ago. Not only that but when the couple came to collect it, the chap loved the chooks and said that they should get some. He mentioned the lovely chickens in his feedback too so we might have another convert

Oh my gosh, my mum threw all of mine away when we moved house I had loads and loads. they used to drive my mum mad as I had them all on display in my room on a shelf. Nightmare to dust. AnnieP
Doh! Bad luck Clare*! Isn't it always the way? If we only knew what to keep and throw away! I was given a hideous doll a few years back, from the 1950's. It walks and talks and still has its original silk dress. It's incredible and must have cost a great deal when new. I find however, that its worth virtually nothing, and I loathe it, but somehow cannot make myself throw it away.... so it sits in my loft... Richard and Jo
my sister sold a clarice cliff bowl on ebay last year for £1500. It was given to her for free! I am up to 222 feedback- lots of bargains but some tatt as well
One Man Banned
I buy lots of stuff from Ebay - we collect Denby Arabesque so it's great for that especially the cutlery that is rare (usually goes for £25-30 a place setting) plus I have bought and sold cars there too I got a great deal on an S40 (Volvo of course!) I got from my employer after they had finshed with it. Used it for over a year run up the mileage a bit and sold it on Ebay for more than I paid for it. It's also how I bought Wesley (see pics) I love Ebay!
SusannenoZ
I collect Denby Arabesque too! Got some off e bay, but most came from my Mum who had it from new, when it was new and trendy rather than retro!and I have got some from antique fairs etc. I love it and so does my 19 year old daughter. We have a lot in common Andrew, a collie, 2 chickens, (we both have a geraldine!) and both arabesque collectors! spooky!
Popcorn
Susanne, your avatar always makes me smile I was an Ebay vigin up until a few months ago. I could never really get my head around how it all worked. Once I'd worked out how to make a purchase there was no stopping me. I've got some real 'baby' bargains and some lovely garden furniture stuff too. Just got to work out how to sell my junk for a few million £££'s now

Chicken on a mission
For those who have missed it - it's a 5p listing day on Tuesday... Phil Thanks Phil I never list on 5p listing day. Its a matter of supply and demand. Loads more for sale so more compeition. On the other hand, 5p listing day doesn't attract in the same additional buyer so the prices fall. Post 5p liting day is great time to be buying but not for selling.
