Yolky
It will be three weeks today till I get my lovely chooks. I am so excited, I just can't wait. Last night I was on the forum looking at the pictures of other peoples newly delivered hens and my 7yo said to me 'Mum I think you must be so excited about getting hens because you keep looking at pictures of them' I am also staring at the phone alot as I have read about a few people on the forum getting phone calls and their eglus/chooks delivery being brought forward and they ordered on the same day as me, so I am hoping Anyway I was wondering what I can do to help me get through 'the big wait' *continues staring at phone* lol. little chickadee
You could always phone omlet and ask if they have any earlier delivery slots! Good luck with the wait. My son and I were bouncing up and down by the time we were actually able to collect our chooks!
Laura & CTB
You just have to start pacing the floor and not sleeping at night
stoobie
Hi Yolky - Im due mine in three weeks time as well. Are you a fellow northerner or do they have more than one delivery van? I want the date bringing forward too, but I know I should really wait until my new fence is up (this weekends job ) Stu
Yolky
They must have more than one van as I am a softy southerner It is so exciting isn't it. All I can think of is chooks
Omletina Kyckling
Are you a fellow northerner or do they have more than one delivery van? I think they have at least 4 because when I ordered my Cube, the details on the website said it was coming in Van 4!! Give them a ring and see if they can offer an earlier date/cancellation. I tried, was unsuccessful but have read of others who've been lucky!!
Lapinou
We found the desperate excitement wore off after a few days and then returned a day or two before they came. When I was really excited, I just spent forever on here reading about them and looking at photos like you but, honestly, that feverish excitement did wear off and I didn't find myself spending two whole weeks on edge! dancing cloud
I had to wait two months for my Cube and spent a lot of time reading this forum, visiting people with hens, writing lists of all the things I needed to buy, and then going buying them and more. Good job I was able to collect my ex-batts two days after the Cube arrived or I'd have been bankrupt before they got here

I was in same place recently Spent my time doing chicken research and then doing the "shopping" that arose ..i.e medical bits and pieces, bedding, feed, supplements.. then log roll.. tub trugs etc etc Also went to see other peoples chooks, like the lovely trio surferdog has also wne to see breeder and get hands on advice, handling etc.. My Daughter used the time to make a lovely "welcome home" sign for them too! It will pass quickly but don;t expcet any sleep on the last night! Best of luck! Yolky
Thanks all. I seem to be ok at weekends but during the week I feel more excited...I think its because Omlet may call on a week day with perhaps a earlier date *hopes* Anyone else in the Bristol area getting an eglu delivered on the 11th of July? alison
Mines coming on the 11th, but I am St Albans and I know it will be late in the day as they are doing a round circuit with me on the way home as I am M25/M1 junction. I can't wait either! Alison
Mutrix Farmers
3 weeks!!!!! I'd have been climbing the walls if I'd had to wait that long!!
alison
I have been waiting since mid may, I changed my mind about an eglu which would have been here on the 16th June. Initially they said August for my cube, then found me a spot on the 11th July. Tooooooo long! alison
Yolky
3 weeks!!!!! I'd have been climbing the walls if I'd had to wait that long!! I am lol My garden is looking good though, have spent lots of time cutting grass and making it look a bit tidier.
christmasoompa
You're making me feel very guilty about my tiny 6 day wait now Yolky!! But if it's any consolation, ours were on van 5, so they certainly have quite a few vans. So the chances of that phone ringing are good I would say............ Earthchild
Still no call and still 2 weeks left to wait. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am now considering adding another chook and the converter to the order...... LOL I know exactly how you feel - I have a 6 week wait (3 gone, 3 to go) and so far I have rang and added netting and a run extension and am visiting a local supplier to look at adding 2 more chooks when the cube arrives
Lapinou
If you think you can spare the money in any way at all, then go for it. our three chooks are lovely together and it's so reassuring to know they've got enough space in the run for times they need to be in there. Electricbarbarella
are they just delivering everyones on the 11th, mine is coming then too. I have already addedan extension and 2 more chooks. It is quite a god way of making people spend more money isn't it. I have marked the area out with wood in the garden and I get all giddy, dh and I converse only in bok boks now and the dd's tell everybody they see about them. Yolky
What area are you in for delivery EB? This isn't my first addition either...I added bokashi and 25m of the netting too lol. I also keep looking at the winter shade but might ask for that for my birthday (not long after chooks arrive)
