moochoo
Phew! I was woken up this morning at 5am by my next door but one neighbour banging on our front door. Normally, I would be fairly upset at this rude awakening but he was trying to tell us of the TWO FOXES that were in our garden trying to get at the girls. By the time I got into the garden, air rifle in hand (I wouldn't have shot them it was just for noise), they'd gone in a flurry of feathers. There were no casualties, apart from the contents of the grub which had been knocked off in all the fuss. The girls seem to be non the worse for their ordeal. Thank goodness for the Omlet run, it appears they'd had a really good attempt to get in but failed miserably. We regularly see foxes pass through our garden in the morning but this is the first attempt to grab a take away on the way home. If I hadn't got an Omlet cube I really don't thing they'd have had a chance.

NClaire
It is scary isn't it - I remember seeing 3 foxes in our garden, one sitting ON TOP of our run (we don't have an omlet one, it's a home made wooden one with integral run) - the chickens were NOT impressed, but the foxes seem to have learnt that they can't get in, and just do a quick surveillance job now! Olly
gosh, I'd like to think my neighbours would do that! Top marks to the Omlet run, but I would invest in a Foxwatch if I were you.
moochoo
Yes, they're very good neighbours but I didn't get back to sleep. I dropped them some eggs round to say thanks before I came to work. They understand my predicament as the foxes got their guinea pigs a few months back At least I know the girls are safe at night and I'm always around if they free range.
