Jules.
It was beautiful yesterday, & we woke to nasty cold rain today. Then about 11 it dried up, all the neighbours came out doing gardening & such like, & now it's pouring down & came "out of the blue"! I am sat here with the patio doors open, & wondered what the noise was, & it's teeming it down again

whittlewitch
Like you Jules I'm in Lancanshire, dreadful morning, then lovely sunshine, not yet had further down pours but I have just seen a dirty great big cloud heading my way! My OH has gone to North Wales fishing and this morning it was beautiful there, when the forecast had been heavy rain Can't work this weather out, you can have at least 3 seasons in a just one morning, but what I would really like to know is why, it often starts to pour down at 3.25pm - just oin time for picking the kids up? Mrs Frugal
One of the Williams sisters . It's lovely here now after a disappointing start. We're off to the Riverside Music Festival on the meadows in town later on. A great day out with local bands playing on 4 stages. Last year was absolutely cracking so I'm hoping this year will be even better. Highlight of my day will be "The Undercover Police" - a local Police tribute band. Went to see the real thing last September in their reunion tour so I'll enjoy the tribute band. The festival ends with a terrific firework display at night. Mrs Frugal
Yes, it's fabulous although it's pretty windy so the washing's getting dry! Proof of sunshine and good weather... ...taken 2 minutes ago! Please excuse the dishcloths on the line . Lisa, it's worth a drive up to Sunny Stamford. The festival is great fun! We love it .
ubereglu
It's horrible here. Luckily I cleaned out the hens earlier! It's so windy that the washing line broke.
SarahJo
Rained like never before here in Cheshire this morning, so took boys for a hair cut and bits in town. Came home to a HOT house and sunshine, and then rain again . Managed to get the grass cut this afternoon, as bone dry again - just before the next gust of wind and downpour . OH just back from Portugal - only there for 2 days - 20 mins by the pool and sunburnt tum and tops of legs . Bought factor 40 home for us as a family, before we head to Spain and 30 C average Bizarre weather to say the least .

Yolky
Tipping down here in Bristol now. Most of the day has been a mix of sun/clouds/spitty rain and all mixed with lots of wind. We still managed to clear out the shed, get three massive car loads of rubbish to the tip and we just have to dispose of the actual shed tomorrow. I hope it doesn't tip down all day as I want to get it done and so will be working in the rain if needs be.

Cate in NZ
When I agreed to move out here I was lured by the promise of long, pleasantly warm summers and short, mild winters. I was also told that in winter there are occasional (very infrequent) frosts in winter, but that it has never been known to snow in Rotorua So yesterday I really felt as if I'd been had over when I found myself shivering in the snow in Rotorua . Our Kiwi friends who were with us were amazed too, never experienced snow in NZ away from the ski resorts. Right now bright sunshine, but bitterly cold cold here. I'm really missing the UK summer, such as it is
Egluntyne
Bit late mentioning this, but we had the blackest clouds imaginable and thunder and lightening, and a half hour period of rain so heavy that I began to think floods". Next thing....brilliant sunshine. Typical British summer weather really.
