Summer monsoon

Recommended Posts

Been chucking it down in London for the past 3 days :( I am sick to death of the rain, it's just not fun. The long range weather forecast, if you believe such things, is that this is what 'summer' is going to be like this year

As if the rain weren't bad enough, what gets me is how cold it is, I am back to wearing two jumpers and a winter jacket for going out. DH has flat refused to turn the heating on, might take a hot water bottle to bed tonight

I have put the heating on too.

Having to dry all the washing in the tumble drier which I hate to do.

Hubby is going on a motorbike track racing day tomorrow, so he may be sitting in the paddock all day and forking out about £100 for the privilege, he wont race if its wet. (its not worth the moaning he gets from me!)

Lemon tree is loving it though!

rained on and off all day here, more on than off and towards the end of the day it yobbed it down!

I did tons of ironing, that made me hot so I didn't have to switch the heating on

Oh dear, it really brings back memories of last summer. I do hope that the weather improves for you all :)

The weather report from NZ is pretty good. We are in winter, so it's chilly come the evenings and we did have snow (which is apparently unheard of in Rotorua  ) on Saturday. But since then it's been fine, dry and pleasantly mild, daytime temps around 15-17oC. Since there's no cloud cover it does get cold at night and we're waking to frost. All the locals are complaining, this is the worst winter they can remember, but to me it feels like March/ April and if this is a bad winter I can cope

Good luck with the monsoons over there....I'll be thinking of you :lol::lol::lol:

It poured all day yesterday, here. I only went out to "do the basics" for the girls. Never left the house otherwise!

Much better day today. Even some sunshine. I may even make the allotments. :)

It won't last though! Where is our summer? I feel like :wall:

I think they've moved St Swithins day!! Rained on and off all day here too, chooks all wet through even though the run is roofed doesn't help if the rain is horizontal! And to make matters worse parents rang from Spain where they live and moaned that it was so hot between 35 and 40 degrees, they got no sympathy at all!!!!!!

Rained all day yesterday. I ran out to the chooks a couple of times with corn and radish tops and to egg collect. Bertha laid 2 eggs yesterday the first of our girls to do that :D , I think she must have been bored  They ate loads yesterday and Eggy laid a 92g egg this morning too.

The water was running into the greenhouse which is the bottom corner of the garden and normally gets pretty waterlogged only in the winter

We woke to sunshine this morning and it is much warmer, we had the woodburner lit last night and I had the heating on for half an hour in the morning to start the washing drying. The clouds are rolling in again now though just as my washing machine is finishing :x

Blue skies to start with this morning, but the odd ominous black cloud is threatening

Still quite warm ish though. Might even mow the lawn.

same here this morning - although I won't be mowing as it severely aggravates my hayfever :roll: I have to keep persuading teenagers that it's good for them to practice mowing the lawn :lol::lol:

Hoping the Sun dries things out a bit :D :D - last week my garden looked beautiful, now it looks like a wind swept soggy swamp covered in petals :(
