chickencam
Awful here too I even ran YD to school in the car which is unheard of for me. It is 7 minutes walk and 10 minutes drive, otherwise she would have been soaked at the start of the day. I put the heating on briefly earlier to dry a load of washing, I decided that at least that way I would get warm too, my feet were freezing Brings back bad memories of last July Good for most crops though, I have enormous cabbages , it is not so good for the potatoes though I feel blight coming on again
Ange1
Nope! Not much better here in northampton. Rain non stop, I was thinking about puting some 'water wings' on my girls, first lot of proper rain they will have seen, They don't looked impressed. Rest of week looks pretty much the same, Sunday sunny though yay! *note to self - clean out eglu Sunday!* Weather like this I definately want comfort food, fancy bangers and mash! Rona
Its not too bad here, just been raining lightly for about an hour. I've been watching the girls having a luxury dust bathe together in their run. Looks like they are having a girls pamper day - I wonder if they will paint each others toe nails next
Mrs Frugal
Awful here all day too. The uncovered part of the chicken run has turned into a swamp and the girls are paddling about in the mud . You wouldn't think they'd got a nice, dry area with a roof on, would you . Feels odd to be hanging the wet laundry in the house again instead of out on the line. whittlewitch
Its been dry up until now, but the sky doesn't look hopeful - I think the rains on its way!
Christian
It has rained non stop all night/day here. I left a few tub trugs out yesterday and they are all overflowing Put the emergency shower curtain over the runs, to try and keep the girls dry, but they are out playing in the mud Fire is built and raring to go. Refuse to put the heating on as it is July! I have 12 days off now, it had better clear up!!
Egluntyne
Dull and muggy here....just the odd spot of rain so far.
helenc
It been raining here all day although not a torrential as on Monday where the local roads were flooded for an hour or so. I have put a tarpaulin type waterproof sheet over the run as the chickens look very sorry for themselves and the run area is quite muddy and I feel really sorry for them. The forecast here is for light showers tomorrow and then raining again as far as the forecast goes - thank goodness we are going on holiday on Saturday to get some sun - I will try to bring some back with me! The Dogmother
Been pouring all day here too. I shall light the stove tonight as it's positively chilly here!
BeckyBoo
Stair rods here all day too. The chicks have matted feet since I moved them onto the earth / mud. Everything chickenish is just plain filthy. We've got our live music event this Saturday too, we always arrange it for this weekend in July, was always a guaranteed sunny day, not last year though and looks like this is going the same way too. hillfamily
Rain all day here aswell Garden has flooded again (well at least I won't need to water the plants this week) and I have just put the girls in their run as they've been wandering about the garden in the rain and they are now looking very bedraggled Have even popped the heating on for a mo to warm up and decided it will be a nice casserole for tea seeing as it would appear to be winter again
Helen&Lee
It's rained all day in Worcester too. Saturday is a year since the awful floods round here - the most terrifying journey home from work I have (or will) ever made. Three and a half hours, (normally 30mins) many submerged cars - I would never be so daft as to try it again. Once home we couldn't get out for 2 days. So, if anybody is about to face floods - just don't go out to try and get home / get to the shops etc - it's just not worth the danger. Stay safe, Helen
susanbb
Not weather to make yo smile is it My plants are now overflowing with rainwater.
crazygal
its rained all day here too, chickens were still begging to be let out again when I got back from the school run though! Almost considered putting the heating on, but put on my big woolly cardie instead still, the water butt will be filling up nicely. (trying to look on the bright side!) Ange1
I like you're thinking Crazygal! It might be my fault, all this rain! We have 3 really large water butts in the garden and last weekend we emptied the last one, and I foolishly uttered the words: 'Now what we need now is some nice rain to fill them up again'!!!! Be careful what you wish for eh?! I wanted to fill them up not have them briming full to overflowing I reckon that Angalian water will be coming to me at the next draught!! Snowy
Well I could've told you it would rain today - it was our toddler group BBQ! I've only just got warm and dry
Ange1
Snowy on a tangent, just clicked on your link, especially as you mention NEW STUFF and shucks, you've sold your two new ones, well done! I particularly liked the Jean Jeanie with the HGV inspiration to it!
chelsea
we've had rain since friday. When everyone else the weekend was bathed in sunshine we had torrential rain and thunder and lightning. im not one for the summer or heat but this weather is seriously ticking me off now. Everythings soaking, including the dog.
Chickvic
Lots of rain here...but it didn't put my girls off laying! Pearl presented us with our biggest egg 85g!
Chicken Licken
it has rained all day here. I had arranged to take 17 special needs teens to anglesey abbey for an end of year picnic to celebrate the work they have done in the gardens there all year. Ended up building habitat piles in the woods (slightly out of the rain) and having an indoor picnic rather soggy in the wooden summerhouse in the woods. My feet haven't dried out yet! I have shut the chooks in the run as they look all spikey and soggy - at least this way they have to stay drier, although i will take them some corn in a mo (before I put on dry socks!!) Egluntyne
I spoke too soon earlier...its raining star rods on this side of Sheffield. Having to turn lights on.
Scramble
Yep, same here Yet another wet day in Wales...In the summer??? Good for Carrots though and the sparrows that live in our roof seem to love it, I really think they enjoy playing in the puddles!
Milly
It has rained all day here - I needed the light on all day too. So much for my day off! And we have the woodburner on. Three soggy chickens. Although the run is covered and dry they prefer to be out free ranging. The only dry one is the one who is broody and has been on imaginary eggs for nearly a month now. I'm sure there must be something good about today. I just can't think what it is at the moment. Milly
pepe
Raining here in Bath since last night, rabbits look truly fed up, dog won't go out and I've been soaked walking to work all I can say is "ok God, my garden is watered you can turn the tap off now"!
