Cooks
Having just recently been to Shepreth Wildlife Park with the Nursery Children I work with, I saw a black and white chicken with a mad mad hairdo and fell in love, I asked what breed this was and was told it was a polish, and wondered if any of you had one of these and if possible could I see pictures please... It was the cutest thing I have ever set eyes on to be honest! and it was wet so she was very very wet, but kept tucking into her meal all the same.. Cooks
sorry I thought that's how it was spelt and he said Polish to me (however it's spelt) and I was in the chicken section I will have to find how to get to your gallery..
Cooks
Cinnamon what are the names of your Polands?. The one I saw was black and white kinda of speckledy/spotty in appearance.
Faye&Ant
I have 2 polands who are as daft as brushes and as friendly as anything. They have provided me hours of laughter just watching them, I think OH has posted a few pics of mine in other threads. I absolutely love them to bits but of course am biased. Once of them is a chamoise poland very 'grown up' and the other is just white and rather loopy! They also are really loyal with each other and preen each other for hours. They are also really quiet and never bok bok, they only time they make a noise is when they chatter away to me for treats or are throwing tantrums because they are shut in their run and even then its more like a jurassic park noise than a chicken noise Im excited for you if you are going to get some - please post piccies when you do
Cooks
oooh I am not getting some I just wanted to see some pictures, I cant get any, I have two large girlies already and I believe these are bantams aren't they? as the one I saw was quite smallish . I dont want additional accomodation, just my orange eglu, so I have to stick with suitable girlies that can live together.. and thats in the future not now.. before anyone gets ideas.. It's just I explained this one to my son (as he wasn't there) and it would be great to show him pictures.
Faye&Ant
LOL sorry was getting rather excited, yes they are bantams and would get picked on by the bigger girls Never say never I will try and dig out a nice picture of my polands when I get home tonight ( I dont know how to attach other threads that we have posted to show you the pics)!!! Lewis
They are white crested black polands, they used to sell them at the children's farm I used to work at. They lay small white eggs. http://www.poultrypress.com/images/aoccl/WhiteCrestedBlackPolishBantammale.jpg
Cooks
no that doesn't look like it. (But thanks) this was much much more speckledy like mad dots of white and black all over.. very unusual.
BeckyBoo
This is ours, we had two but Sharon died leaving us with "Stupid Dave" sorry, but she is the DAFTEST chicken you ever met. She's not black and white as you can see but they are so tame as they really cannot see you coming! And crow? Considering she's a girl she gives out the longest "squaaaaawwwwwwwwkkkkkk" every few minutes, just in case you forgot she was there. Here's Dave... And Sharon in the foreground (sadly deceased) and Dave behind.... Mrs B

Cooks
I love Indiana, and actually thought he was probably the same breed as the one I saw. So gorgeous, and I love the fact he has attitude! Mrs Bertie, if you imagine Dave being black and white rather than different shades of brown, I would be closer to explaining what this one looked like.. she had those spotty markings if you get what I mean. I have tried visiting their website to see if I can see a piccie of her, but I cant find her. I remember seeing that picture Faye!, I thought she looked like a corn dolly!.. so gorgeous! The OH still wants some so one day maybe.
