new chick
Just lost one of my girls. Next doors dog was run over out side my house, and I did not know but he then ran into the field at the back of my garden. My girls we out in their "own field" (part of my garden fenced off for them to run free). The dog spooked them and they flew over the fence, 2 of them into my own garden and the other , who knows where? 2 girls now safe back in their home, other girl still missing. Will she find her own way home? I live in country, with fields all around, but can't see her. I have now left them to get over their shock, hopfully she will find her way back. The dog ran off, and owners still trying to get in back. Hope
Egluntyne
What a shame. She might well come back when it starts to get dark. Good luck. Welcome to the form. Sorry your first post is a difficult one.

dancing cloud
If you have a noise she usually comes to (mine sprint if I shake the corn container), it might be worth trying. She may follow the sound,if she's disoriented, or just come for treats. Fingers crossed she comes home.
Ain't Nobody Here
Welcome to the forum New Chick . What a shame about your chicken (and the neighbour's dog) . As others have said, I'm sure she'll come home at night. Keep us posted!
Purplemaniacs
Sorry to hear about your chicken. Any sign of her yet, have you tried attracting her back home with treats? Hopefully she will come home to roost tonight. Have the neighbours found their dog? Chrissie

new chick
Still no sign of "Arry" my Black / Red Araucana. Will keep looking today. Left the Garden shed open last night in case she was still around, so she could keep dry. Other girls went to bed as normal last night without her. Fingers crossed. Have put corn out in my garden where I found the other girls. No news from next door on their dog. I'm to mad and upset to go and ask them. To the front of us is a very busy main road, and I've told them before about their dog walking down their access road onto it. They have no gate!. Ain't Nobody Here
Oh dear, I'm sorry she's not returned . She still might though, when she gets hungry . What irresponsible dog owners your neighbours sound . Their poor dog .
Joojoo
Oh dear, I'm sorry she's not returned . She still might though, when she gets hungry . What irresponsible dog owners your neighbours sound . Their poor dog . Ditto Hopefully she is wandering around in the field and will come back later. I don't know what else to suggest other than shaking some corn or calling her using your normal voice. Perhaps she is hiding and will come out if she hears you close by. Good Luck
new chick
GREAT NEWS - She's BACK!! This morning a thought I heard her when I first went into garden. Missy, my dog, was very interested in the gap between my garden wall and garage. Put corn out but nothing. I have been working on new electirc fence for my other 2 girls, just finished when Missy went mad!! She tried to get in the small space between garden wall and garage. So I went to see. Usually it's mice. However tucked right into a very tight space, under old leaves was my "Arry". Put corn down, and waited, my partner Alan then climbed on wall and poked a boom handle to the rear of the chick, that and the corn did it ....... and she flew into my arms. She is now back with other 2 girls (Buffie and Winnie) in their new free range area. Hopefully safe behind their elec fence Very Happy
