She is a bit pouty and in love with herself I agree, but I love her recipes and do find they work well.

 

I made some of her Cranberry Curd at the w/e.....and it is simply divine, and so easy.

It's the sort of thing SIL always buys me for Christmas but I think I'll have to buy it.

 

I can't actually bear to watch her on tv (her life and house are way too pretentious!) but I've got Domestic Goddess and find it the most referred to of all my many, many cookbooks. I love the way she doesn't do anything by hand if the mixer or blender can be used!

She used to live on the Goldhawk Road in Shepherds Bush, before she married Charles Saatchi, not a pleasant street, must have been alot of editing done for the outdoor scenes!

Looks good and I really like her other books

Not only did you tell me Pam, you emailed me a link! There is no hope once I have a direct link!

I then told Kate and she was debating whether to get it or not. I am in Hamburg, but the book should be at home waiting for me when I get back tomorrow. That and another book on preserving your home grown produce - Sorry Paola!

 

Will post what I think tomorrow. I liked the idea that it contained 'food for presents' as well as recipes. I am a sucker for foodie Christmas pressies!

 

It worked out cheaper for the 2 with http://www.play.com free delivery too!

I've put the book on my Amazon wish list pending Christians review, I have to put in an order with Amazon before Christmas (who needs to trudge round the shops when you can mail order). The thought of foodie Christmas pressies sounds good........after all what do you give the people who have everything!

Nigella £14.99 on play.com. Free delivery is the big plus side of Play

 

It is always worth checking out The Book People for cookery books too When I looked on play just now I noticed that they had Chinese Food made easy for £9.49 it is only £4.99 at book people you have to pay £3.50 postage but still cheaper and postage is free over £25 and you get points every time you buy which you can redeem against books.

Very impressed with the book so far. Lots of great ideas for Christmas and nice pressie ideas too. 20+ pages of gift ideas plus many other recipes also giftboxable!
