little chickadee
Following on from the Thread about the joys of Autumn, I wondered what your favourite season is. I'm never sure as I love all of them for different reasons. I love each season when it turns. What is your favourite and why?
Chickvic
I picked spring because I love everything 'waking up', but I do like all the other seasons too.
Egluntyne
Autumn...for all the reasons listed in the other thread.
chooklady
I love Autumn too. My Birthday is September aswell. I love the colours, the cool nights and bright crisp days, and all the natural bounty that's around, Summer is a close second if it's a good one with long hot sunny days and being outside in the evenings. jlo
I have to go with Spring. As the days start getting longer and mother nature starts to show off, there is always such a sense of promise in the air. It is a promise that is not usually fulfilled come the summer unfortunately but I still love the sense of expectation.
Mrs Frugal
I love all the seasons for different reasons but I think I actually love winter the best. I love closing the curtains early when it's dark when the boys get home from school. I love wearing warm woolly jumpers and thick socks and can't wait to get my Uggs out of the shoe basket. I love frosty winter walks in the woods followed by hot buttered toast and steaming mugs of coffee. I love getting ready for Christmas/Yule - we do both in our house. Bonfire night is special too as it would have been my Grandad's birthday so we always bake a nice cake. Winter is lovely.
Tessa the Duchess
Spring for me too. I love watching bulbs pushing up and buds forming on the trees, the weather feeling warmer. I don't 'do' hot, not that we have hot summers at the moment I can't abide the cold, so I dread winter, and although Autumn is very pretty it means shorter days and the long winter ahead. A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Autumn. The colours and smells are fuller, and it's an excuse to wear hats and scarfs and other snuggly lovely things. It's such a tactile, sensuous season.
Seagazer
I voted for them all - I think there are good and bad things about all the seasons. I love the fact that we can actually recognise the change of seasons in this country. I don't think I'd like it if it was hot all year or no change between the seasons.
