What is your 'Most memorable ad of the year' please

Trying to think of ads that have made an impact this year (its a work thing).

 

(The Christmas ads thread made me think of asking you guys for help)

 

For example, last year 'Gorilla' was one of the biggies.

 

This year I like the Barclaycard contactless payment one (man slides home in tube) but I don't watch a lot of TV so I was wondering if anything had made you go WOW? Or even made you cross! Could be press, posters or Radio as well as TV.

Tessa - I know the one you mean. But I didn't know what it was for either :roll: - which is good as its the sort of thing I am looking for - rubbish ads as well as great ones!

 

Mark - ouch! We may have had that one over here but not sure. Worth watching though.

 

 

I remember now, there was a thread about the Hovis ad wasn't there? Its so hard to remember some ads - even though some will stick in our minds forever (Smash)

 

Olly - do you really have nightmares about being at work with no clothes on???

 

(I work from home and I once took a call from an executive in retail whose company had just been taken over. He was networking and I was in bed with no clothes on).

And the Cathedral City cheese one of people eating cheese on toast always makes me want cheese NOW. On toast. Mmmmm. So it's a good effective ad, but not as much fun as the other two.

Not sure you had this commercial in the UK, but I think it is one of the most memorable and funny ads I've seen in a long time. Luckily I was able to find it on you tube because it would have lost something if I tried to explain it.

yes same here , the hovis ad and the tube one. the tube one wins though.

i really can't think of any more , now the ones i hate

insurance ads of any kind

heartthrob ads after charity monthly contributions of any kind.

car/drink/perfume ads

 

erm sorry but i hate most ads they seem to have lost the fun side they used to have :(

The man in the barclaycard "tube" add looks a bit like my nephew - but I don't think the nephew (21) has ever spoken as many words as the man in the ad does!!!!

 

I hardly watch TV either, but do enjoy the Citroen/Transformer one - very clever! Probably more memorable as DS was heavily into Transformers when he was smaller.

 

May think of some others later.....

I frequently have that dream too :oops: It's supposed to mean you are not quite in control of something apparently.

 

Anyway, love the waterslide ad too. Quite like the new gorilla one now too.

I really hate an ad which has a weird looking man made of chocolate walking along, he pulls off his nose and makes sprinkles for icecream and then scantily clad women eat his chocolate ears and somebody pulls off his chocolate arm :? It really grosses me out and I have no idea what product it is advertising :shock:

Thats a good one, but I could never have voice recognition in my car,with some of the language I use at other drivers :roll::lol:

Yes, it's not really encouraging you to buy the product is it?! :shock:

 

But if you get some PROPER Mentos, and a bottle of Coke, this happens:

:shock: Perhaps I won't be showing this to the children, they'd want to have go & what a waste of a good mint!!!! :lol:

 

How many bottles did they have on the go for that 2+ minute clip, and how ready for a shower were they at the end, fantastic to watch though.
