I have just been to see 'Quantam of Solace' ,which was actually really very good indeed.

But the experience was spoilt for me by a man who kept texting throught the movie.

He was over the aisle from me, & just a littel bit in front, so I could not only hear his tap tap tapping fingers on the keys, but see the very bright light from his phone too

He sent a text every 10 mins or so right from the ads til the end.

Its not on really,is it?

If his life is that darn busy then why doesn't he just go & do what he needs to do so very urgently & see the movie on DVD when its out?

Muppet

And yes, I know I should have said something, but some days you just don't want to confront people,do you?

I don't know why some people go to the cinema. All they seem to do is chat, text, eat and not actually appear watch the film. We only go occasionally and it has to be a must see film as it costs so much (don't even mention the cost of the drinks, we now bring our own) so it really spoils it if there is a group who are intent of having their own good time and spoil it for everyone else.

I enjoyed QoS too. Not much plot, but the action scenes were brilliant. Daniel is a very good Bond.

Oooo dont get me started lol

i had a kid kicking my seat on and off throughout a film, i usually say mnothing but turned round and spoke to him nicely to stop. Dad then looked puzzled and asked whats the problem. so then i started pooping myself  but explained what he had been doing and he got a right telling off

another time the cinema was packed and a group of teens were ringing on their mobiles and loudly talking, i don't pay good money to not hear the film  so i took the cowards way out and went to find a member of staff and explained and went back to my seat. little while after (thank god it didnt look to obvious lol) someone came in and had a word and stood keeping an eye on them for a bit.

other times the cinema staff don't do much

Not as bad as when i went to see it last week Emily and her friend kept nudging each other and giggling I kept telling them to watch the film and be quiet as the cinema was full........In the end i asked Emily what the matter was and she said look at the people next to Kate, they were on top of each other having a rather too passionate kiss for a public place, I looked round and everybody was watching them........When they finished they all cheered......

Well yes I guess so, but I paid a booking fee to get this particular seat with long leg room as I have a pulled muscle in my calf & wanted to be comfy. Moving sideways would have made no difference & I didn't want to tackle the stairs in the dark.

It also didn't occur to me at the time if I am honest. I hate moving once I am settled.

I have sent an email to the cinema in question, also mentioning that for the last 4 times I have been I have not been able to use the auto ticket pick up machines to collect the tickets that I have bought online, but have had to queue at the concession stands with all the coke drinkers  Which kind of negates pre booking, really & makes me mad at them for charging me a booking fee too.

our cinema used to have something called 'The Monday Classic'. It was generally films that teenagers wouldn't want to see, some foreign and independant films etc. We loved going, we virtually had the cinema to ourselves, it was great!

One day there was just us and another couple, we were sat miles away from them (on purpose, if the place is virtually empty we sit as far away from anyone else as poss) but at one point they dropped their large bag of M&Ms on the floor and the whole lot went clattering and rolling down the floor towards the screen  I think you have to teach yourself to zone out or something as there's always going to be some annoying so and so, no matter what you do.

I think they cancelled 'The Monday Classic' in the end as not enough people went!

We hardly go to the cinema any more but we do rarely go to the classic film night at The Philharmonic in Liverpool, they have a rising cinema screen and an organist, the atmosphere is wonderful. I loathe multiplexes with a passion; gangs of kids hanging around in the foyer and the over priced snacks. I even found a syringe by my car once when I came back to it one night, so we only go if we're really keen to see something and that's not often.

I think the last time was when I was dragged along to see the last Harry Potter film or it might have been one of the Tolkien ones, can't remember. The place was virtually full and we were sat near some girls who wouldn't shut up so I told them to be quiet and they spent the rest of the film watching me to see if I was watching them and giggling. You can't win!

....

I remember the days os ushers, who would come & shine their torch in the face of any misbehavours. Those were the days.

in our cinema they have a little montage/cartoon of a Lara Croft type figure putting people in their place who are using phones or talking etc in fact, I think at one point she has somebody by the throat or she drops kicks their phone, I can't remember! - lot of good that does!!!!

We loved the film too Sarah, went to see it at the weekend with Phil. Now i have a very high level of tolerance regarding disturbances while watching a film, but a group of teenagers across from us clearly weren't watching the film and talked/giggled and texted each other all the way through. Other viewers shushed them to no avail..... in the end I got up and told them that if they didn't stop, I'd ask the management to remove them.

That worked!

I NEVER have a problem with noise or anything when I go to the cinema. 10 mins into any film and I'm asleep

A couple of years ago I was on a school trip and we went into the Imax at the Science museum. The kids were astonished that I sat down and was nodded of in minutes!

Guess why I dont waste my money!!

I would love it if our local cinema showed films at an earlier time so we could watch one while the kids were in school. They only ever start at 11am when its the holidays!

Also, heard recently that some cinema chains are going to start 18+ showings for films even if they aren't an 18 rating.
