I went in to work today after being off all week with this cold/flu thing. I did think that I was ok but the minute the cold air got me this morning I couldn't stop coughing to the point where I felt that I couldn't breathe. Anyway, long story but I ended up being sent home again.

 

My husband has also got the start of this and son is also showing signs that he has caught the bug.

 

My friend came to me today at work and said not to take it the wrong way but could it be something that we had picked up off the chickens?

 

I couldn't stop laughing which made the coughing worse.

There are a lot of bugs going round at the moment - obviously EVERYONE is turning into chicken owners. Tell your friend the chickens didn't give it to you but you are very concerned about passing your germs onto them so you'll be tucking them up in bed tonight with a lemsip and tot of brandy, and a hot water bottle

Just been to the doctor. She gave me some inhalers to help with the breathing and then signed me off work next week.
