Christian
I don't rate it at all. It is more of a preventative measure. Most people on here use Flubenvet. Details can be found **here**
Egluntyne
I found it less than useless. An expensive mistake.
madchickenlady
My girls gobble up the pellets, but I have no idea whether it works or not. We've never had worms (touch wood!)
chelsea
I've used flubenvet ever since having chooks (2006) and never had a worm problem (*touches wood* ) I've seen several threads over the years with people who's chickens are on verm-x still have a worm problem so I personally wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. I think its a more "natural" method but it doesn't seem to eradicate worms completely. False economy IMO.
shelley8179
Thanks for the replys I will definatly get flubenvet, I looked at flubenvet but got a bit confused how much do I use for 4 chickens and how long and when do I use it
chelsea
I worm my girls every 3-4 months. I use the raisin method (opening up a raisin and disguising the wormer inside) and give one to each chook for a 7 day period. Some people mix it with the food and feed over 7 days. Im sure there's a thread somewhere (probably in "clinic") showing you how much to use.
badgerbluebadger
Its worming time for my girls soon where can I get some flubenvet?

SnowWhite
Just to add my vote in favour of Flubenvet. I used Verm-x initially but it was Flubenvet that gave the results i.e. healthier hens, more eggs etc. Whilst I preach the natural route, I really don't feel that Verm-x is effective so it has to be Flubenvet for me. Christian
Whilst I preach the natural route, I really don't feel that Verm-x is effective so it has to be Flubenvet for me. I feel the same way. The trouble with worming is, that often the chickens do have worms, but they can't be seen by the naked eye, so it appears that the Vermx is working. At least Flubenvet does the job
happy hen
I have used Verm X for at least a year and girls have never had any worms yet....Is that just luck or is the Verm X working? How do you know?
Egluntyne
My girls were on Verm - but had symptoms which made me suspect they had worms. I dosed then with flubenvet and a couple of days later, the evidence in the poo tray was there to be seen. Masses of worms. I haven't been able to face beansprouts since. I dose the hens routinely with Flubenvet now.
..lay a little egg for me
I noticed that, despite no obvious symptoms, after I have wormed the girls with flubenvet, their egg production increases...
shelley8179
where can I get flubenvet from and how much does it cost?
helenmb
I bought some like others and have only used it once. Always use Flubenvet now. I am sure its fine for a more preventative measure but to be totally sure they have been treated I'd go for the proper meds.
