Lesley
It's Not Easy Being Green Did no-one watch it last night? I was fully expecting a thread full of drooling women this morning! Nicola H
I watched it...........But I didn't drool his hair is too long and that facial hair he is looking more like his dad each time i watch it. I was very interested in the solar panals they fitted but £15,000, we are hoping to fit some early this year and think we can fit enough to heat our water in the spring and summer for about £5,000.......... Lesley
I think they need to work hard to keep it as entertaining as the last series - I felt they were using a big stick to beat people last night.
MedusA
I watched too. Not so sure about the "magazine" format. Very interested in the pv panels and the "natural" swimming pool. Next week it's featuring honeybees, which I will be very interested to see as DD and I are intending to join our local beekeeping group this spring and look into having a hive. The Dogmother
Imissed it and only found out that it was on when Phil pointed it out to me in the paper.. I'll look and see if it's on iplayer - that is one programme that I will break my no TV habit for.
Willow
I thought it was a bit lightweight to be honest. I didn't watch the original series but borrowed the book from a friend (Hi Gill and thought the book was great. The carbon footprint calculator slot with Phil Tufnell was particularly lightweight although I did laugh when Dick had to point out new car was bad ! The kids and I loved the natural swimming pool but so expensive ! I'll probably watch again in the hopes it tells me something I didn't already know. Jillus
I also thought it a bit lightweight and not that useful, I thought the three planets thing was meaningless to most people and the cost of the solar panels for most folk out of the question. The swimming pool was lovely but if I had that much money I don't think it would be going on a lily laden swimming pond. I think the 'magazine' format is a way to pad out not much to fill a slot cheaply. Thumbs down from us I am afraid.
Christian
I watched it on iplayer. Not keen on the Barry Gibb look James The original series had much better advice IMHO
The Dogmother
I felt that the last series got a bit lightweight towards the end too Will try to catch this one on iplayer and see how the new series goes.
chickencam
The original programmes were definately better, but I have to love the Strawbridge family for their zest for life and enthusiasm. The piece about the pool was really interesting but as others have said it is all well beyond the purses of normal mortals, but so are normal swimming pools. Phil Tufnell was a waste of time. I am not one for facial hair as a rule but I think that James Strawbridge is a seriously attractive young man, although he is unfortunately far too young. Me thinks Dick doesn't do much hard labour these days, his tum was looking very well fed Out on the PR and lecture tour I suspect.
The Dogmother
That young James certainly is easy on the eye, but not my sort at all.. no harm in looking though I agree Liz; I love their enthusiasm
Lydia
I didn't see it but hubby did and woke me up at 5am this morning with the words "I think we should lag the loft". There was a time when he'd whisper sweet nothings...........
Trish
darn missed it, sorry I may be weird and it really is cradle snatching but he does it for me off to iplayer to learn more about lagging (tee hee)

Willow
I didn't see it but hubby did and woke me up at 5am this morning with the words "I think we should lag the loft". There was a time when he'd whisper sweet nothings........... These days I settle for mine waking me up with those words (as long as he actually did it) I like the family and will admit the young Mr Strawbridge is easy on the eye but he doesn't do anything for me and not just cos he's so young but I don't know why. Trish
Stop drooling Trish! now I need to find my e-cloth to wipe the screen Yes I do thing the programme is a bit light weight in someways but look at popular media at the moment much of it is light weight. I guess they are going for a slightly different audience and hoping die hards will come along any way.
Janty
I missed it too...story of my life lately.
Cinnamon
I enjoyed it, & I quite like young James, face fuzz or not Such a nice twinkly smiley chap. The sort you would be happy for your daughter to bring home. Loved that pool too
redhotchick
I saw it, well it was on, I wasn't giving it my full attention. The bit about spending upto £100,000 on renovating a house to maximise it's "green" credentials was interesting. They want chickens! And I saw a rainwater storage tank being previewed for a future episode. I wonder if they will get an Eglu?! I'll be interested to see what they say about beekeeping. and a timely reminder for me to consider a beekeeping course again. They tend to hold them once a year starting in March around here. Did anyone see "The Victorian Farm" this evening. It looks interesting too.
Lesley
I love swimming and have always wanted a pool - but I just couldn't swim in a pool full of bugs
The Dogmother
I caught the ned of that Victorian Farm thing.. last 10 minutes; looks promising and will try to watch it on iplayer when ironing.
Mutrix Farmers
It's Not Easy Being Green Did no-one watch it last night? I was fully expecting a thread full of drooling women this morning! Young Mr. Strawbridge without his T Shirt......... I watched and drooled!! Must say I'm glad Mrs Strawbridge isn't in this series, she irritated me. Just wish being green wasn't so expensive - £15,000 for solar panels? £100k for an eco-swimming pool!
Cinnamon
I watched and drooled!! Must say I'm glad Mrs Strawbridge isn't in this series, she irritated me. Don't watch next week then - she was featured in the 'coming up' bit I found her a bit airy fairy for my liking
