Their heading was ......... US plane down in River Hudson.

 

Your photos show how brave and skilled the pilot was to safety land in water and save everyone on board.

Bird Strike in both engines apparently.

 

I suppose with an airport so close to the sea, they are lucky it doesnt happen more often.

James was fascinated by this today - he could really picture it because he's been to NYC and has an idea in his mind of the river - course he is thinking of the East river not the Hudson!

Apparently the eye witnesses thought it was another terrorist attack, how scary?! Brave pilot, he looked as though his legs wouldnt hold him up another moment longer when he got off the plane, cant say I blame him.

 

Needs to be bought a large brandy in the pub after that.

It's quite incredible isn't it? What a hero, apparently (according to the news however reliable that is) the pilot walked up and down the inside of the plane twice after landing to make sure everyone was out. Amazing skill to land it missing all that civilisation, and apparently you have to land it exactly so to stop it from breaking up on impact. Guy deserves a medal.

I'd like to book him for any of my future flights too!
