kitbag
Did you go to Reading Megan & get caught up in the crowds with that fire at the Mall? There was a fire!? No its just that the shops i went to were just very busy and i was too tired to try and shove my way through to the decent dresses!
clootie
B&W for me too.
Seagazer
I thought they were both lovely dresses (must get out and find an evening dress myself) but for me the pink one won in the end as I liked the detailing at the top but that said they are both gorgeous dresses. I would definitely go with the suggestion that Sheila made - which made her feel more special. We went with my DD when she tried on her prom dresses. She found a gorgeous midnight blue dress that she absolutely fell in love with but it was quite constricting around the body. She decided she would be worried about fainting so went for another dress. She looked beautiful in the 'new' dress but afterwards was upset that she hadn't gone for her original choice as she felt that it was so special. I hope she has a lovely time at her prom. Rona
Both beautiful but in the photos the B&W looks better so I would say go for that one provided she feels comfortable with it being strapless. Maybe if she puts it on and spends half and hour or so dancing around the house, waving arms in the air etc, without having to hoik it up, that would be a good test of its stay-upability. Jules.
Black & white
Plum
I prefer the black and white, which means she should choose the pink which is younger. But agree its which one makes her dance round the room is the right one.
Ms Marple
I voted for the black and white. I thought the purpely pink looked a bit "mother of the bride". Just my opinion. My thoughts too. The black and white looks really gorgeous on her. Really grown- up. I remember a prom a few years ago where a girl wearing a paler colour got a drink spilt over her - it was a pint of coke as I recall - but her prom was ruined as she couldn't cope with the state of her cream dress - which really did look a mess. Another reason for the black and white - hides a multitude..... I am a science teacher and I always tell my kids that the most dangerous person, next to them, is everyone else in the room, who is not thinking about them!!!! She will look stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ardene5
Hi Everyone The Black and White dress is the best, as it looks the nicest as it float over the figure. The pinkish is a bit too fitted for our likings. Therefore we have voted for the Black and White Dress. Best regards Ian & Valerie
Tina C
I love the pink dress but I voted for the B&W dress as it seems to fit better and suit her figure better - or is it because she feels more confident about this one and holds herself better? I think that because its not plain black she will stand out - but good point about dancing/leaping around to test the 'stayupability'. Try posing with arms around friends for photos (typical prom pose?) and see what happens?
The Dogmother
I love the B&W one, but then pink isn't my colour at all.
Falkor
B&W def! Although it is strapless so maybe want to jump about a bit and check for "spillage" **holds her head in shame as she remembers a summer ball where the young farmers got more than she and they bargained for!**
fowlbird
Did you go to Reading Megan & get caught up in the crowds with that fire at the Mall? what fire? which mall?? I live in Reading and don't get to hear the news...
fowlbird
I prefer the B&W simply because it is a better shape and really does suit her.

I will ask ED to try on both dresses and jump up and down in a drunken manner while imagining a learing crowd of drunken young farmers: whichever one ensures her survival of the experience is the winner! MedusA
Definitely the black and white one!
JM
B&W definitely looks more elegant and looks gorgeous on her! I thought the pink looked nice, but not as nice. The B&W is great - although do check with the jumping about test first!! Jill
Cinnamon
Did you go to Reading Megan & get caught up in the crowds with that fire at the Mall? what fire? which mall?? I live in Reading and don't get to hear the news... There was a fire in Broad St mall on Saturday, about midday. Cleo was there & reported to me by text that the Mall was evacuated, & Broad street half shut off.Apparently there were ladies with half cut & partly dyed hair It was in the card shop, which has been badly damaged, but they contained it to that, which is good. chickenanne
When I first saw them, I thought pink, but then I scrolled back to the B&W one and thought that was the best.... it might be the lighting, but the pink one looks a bit sheeny-shiny which makes it look - sorry- maybe a little - sorry- inexpensive...? I love the colour of the pink, it's not sugary or anything, and not too bright. What would she wear with them? B&W is handy because much easier to buy nice black eveningy shows than ones to match the pink.
Lesley
I agree. Love the purpley pink colour, but the B&W has a lovely shape and does look nicer. Not so keen on the bodice of the pink one somehow, the detail is lovely but it doesn't quite work as a style No, definitely the B&W one. My thoughts exactly - even though the pink is my favourite colour.
The Dogmother
The top of the B&W dress looks to be cut fairly high, so she ought to be safe from spillage.

Imagining your lovely girl doing this made me ! Do you think she would let you post photos of the test? By the way, I agree the B&W really suits her. baby bears mum
Definitely the black and white one. It looks very classy but also lets face it there are only a few occassions you can wear an off the shoulder (not to mention, in my case, a certain age). She will look beautiful whichever she chooses. laurmurf
And the winner is................ well 83% of you can't be wrong! the Black and white dress it is! She's delighted with it and had more or less decided on the black and white almost instantly, so she tells me. A bit more secure in the boobage department too (although it does come with optional straps for belt and 'braces' security ) She'll look lovely in it (well I am biased) as she's really pale and has very dark hair. Will post the actual prom pics too. Darling ED would like to thank omleteers for voting and saying such nice things to her!
