We're trying to do up the house to sell and could really do with th emoney so DH phoned them. Apparently they don't know when they'll be sorted, could be months and they couldn't even confirm they had had our forms!

Me neither. I had heard not to bother ringing as they wouldnt tell you anything and that its slowing the job down having to answer everyones querys. I think we could all use it for one reason or another but Im not counting my chickens untill they are hatched

We haven't heard anything either - looks like that's good news! But DH's tax code has just gone up so that he is getting almost the full tax-free amount available. That's good news!

I was told OH had it... he doesn't remember. We've changed accountants since then so there's no one to check with.

Got the "no" letter yesterday ! Shame, would have paid for the Cube!!

 

Several friends said they are entitled though, so not all bad news, thanks for everyone for highlighted it, on their behalf - now when am I free so they can take me out for a drink !!!!

OH rang tax office just before the deadline to check whether forms received. We did not want to get the 'never received your forms' excuse. The guy he spoke to checked his tax code and said we had already had it - and sent us a letter to show how they worked out his tax code for that year.

 

Shame but as we had not 'spent' it in advance not too disappointing.

 

Hope the rest of you do get a windfall though.

It was the fact that they couldn't tell us if they had received our forms that annoyed me. If we don't receive it because they say it didn't arrive I will be livid.

I guess it means that we didn't get that much at the time so they did owe us but to be honest we might never have known so it was a lovely break.

I want my letter! and cheque preferably! *stamps foot* I haven't received anything and when I called they said they couldn't confirm they had received it as on the screen it didn't say anything!, so I said excuse me (in polite voice) but I really need your help here, I dont want to keep ringing you to ask what is happening, I do not enjoy doing that and disturbing you at work, however I really would like to know it's at least in the pile to be processed"

 

He trotted off and came back and said yes it's in the pile.... how hard was that!?
