Whoops that was naughty

Recommended Posts

Got home and saw that hubby had finished the last of the cake that I cooked him at the weekend to go in his packed lunch (like I do every weekend) so thought I would be a love and cook him another. Decided to cook him some muffins as they are quick and easy. Used my normal basic recipe and decided to add plain chocolate chips and frozen raspberries. They looked nice ..... tasted nicer .... and before I knew it I had eaten 3  . Ah well, there's 9 left for him.

Don't think I should cook them again; they really are too tempting (especially for someone who is dieting successfully - or made that should read 'was' dieting successfully :shameonu: )

They sound yummy!

Used my normal basic recipe

What's your normal basic recipe then? I've been experimenting with different recipes over the past couple of weekends but haven't really found one that works. Can I give yours a try...?

of course I will - watch this space this evening!

MEanwhile I just claimed it was a bakers half dozen

Now if I could just shift them straight off my waistline!

I think you have just highlighted the down side to cooking your own instead of buying :D

I cooked some nice lemony biscuits last night and 2 of them fell in my mouth! Well you have to test them dont you???

Our shopping bill has plummeted by cooking everything from scratch but my waistline is gaining the pounds saved at the supermarket

I believe quite firmly that a cook should taste things to check the seasoning etc is OK. Or in this case the correct ratio of chocolate chips to raspberries!!

Extremely sensible advice :D

Absolutely. It is also vital to check that the mixture tastes OK before you get them out of the oven, plus it is important to eat any that might be misshapen, crumbling at the edges, not filled up the muffin cases so that you can perpetuate the illusion that your cakes always turn out perfectly

I've just posted it in the All things nice part of the forum. Let me know what you think. Personally I don't use any other recipe now - or rather only recipes from the one book as like you I had always struggled to find one that worked
