An Update On My Chicks.

Recommended Posts

My babies will be two weeks old on Sunday. It's gone so quickly (and how comes the three weeks it takes to incubate are the slowest three weeks ever?) and I've loved every minute of having them. They're so sweet, their little characters are showing through and they have new feathers appearing daily. They're from a mixed flock of large fowl, every breed under the sun, so it's fun trying to figure out who the parents might be. Some have grown really cute tiny tails this week. Again, going by feather sexing, those with tails now are females. Of the five I thought were girls only one hasn't got a tail yet and that's the one I think stands like a boy. Just everything about it says boy to me but my daughters are keeping their fingers crossed it's a girl. It's comb is bigger, just like the other one I think is a boy. Time will tell........

I took these pics on Tuesday, will have to take more over the weekend because they change so much. I'll also add the link to their latest Youtube video. I'd put a blanket on my bed for them to run about on and for some strange reason they started to pretend to dust bath in it  Paxo started it and they all copied him  Somebody said maybe it's because the blanket is brown and their chooky numbskull brains told them it was soil  It's fascinating because "Ooops, word censored!"ody has ever shown them how it's done but they just knew.

Runty Robin (got her name because she's the runt and looks like a robin!)
