Can we beat this record?

Recommended Posts

On the 27th March at 2:25pm last year we had the most people on line...ever 8)... 214 :!:

What I was wondering was .......can we do it again this year in aid of BHWT :?:

If we excede that total this year I promise to send a donation £5 to the BHWT.

Anyone else could do the same.

Donations would be whatever you feel you could afford at that time.

You could be online in any section.

We could discuss a suitable time for maximum coverage.

Omlet will be asked to verify total numbers of users on line (they do this anyway  )

We MIGHT, if we ask them nicely, get Omlet to make a donation as we all support them so loyally :!: £ for £ :?: Why not :?: Think of the publicity they could cash in on

I would be happy to collate a list of willing participants and send out reminders.

You would NOT commit to a donation, only a reminder that we would be attempting a record breaking sign-on in aid of the BHWT.

Please let me know what you think of this idea plus any suggestions.

Jx

Edit to say....Could a Mod put this in the other sections too please so we can get maximum coverage? PLEASE :!:

Best wait until things are stable again - we don't want to lose everything

We had a record challenge a few weeks ago (you were poorly Jackie) and we reached 74.

Hmmmmmm  - perhaps we upset the forum

We have another one scheduled for the 20th September....20.09.2009 - we could see how the forum is coping then?

The true record is 74 btw.

In the meantime .....any other ideas [/quote ]

How about a sponsored egg lay ? Anyone who wanted to take part could agree a sum per egg, omlet could be asked to join in, and then take a day (?Easter Sunday) and all report our egg production that day, and then donate according to what we had pledged.

(anyone ANY idea how many omleteer eggs are laid per day ??) :anxious::?

yes my intital thought was £2 an egg or so, using ones own hens, whcih would be £8 for me :) but then I thought of people with many many hens and thought, why penalise them for having lots o lovely eggs ? :D

So then I thought count the total number of omleteer eggs reported in one day ?500 ?5000 ?, and then people could say 1p per egg, or 1p per 5 eggs, or whatever they like and which produces a reasonable donation

we would need to have some idea of how many omleteer eggs are laid a day, to avoid bankrupting everyone though......

Not immediately full of good ideas but very happy to join in :D

BHWT already get the egg money from my little ex-batt monsters - they got a thank you mention in the latest newsletter with all their names, and can barely fit all their egos in the cube at the moment . I'm always up for anything that raises more money to help other folks have little monsters too!

What counts as on-line?

I often open a web browser and have several tabs open (one of which is omlet). I look at it throughout the day, (but am working in othe rwindows/tabs most of the time. )

Would this mean that I was on-line all day ?

If so, that makes it easy for me to be on-line at a certain time.

Sheila is right - the member totals only include people who have been active during the previous 5 minutes.

Not that it matters at the moment Hazel as we're not going for a forum record as it has all been a bit unstable lately and we don't want to make it crash :)

We're looking at other ways to raise some money - if you scroll backa few posts you'll see that we're looking at cash for eggs laid!
