Old Speckled Hen
Has anybody else noticed how hens flick their third eyelid over when they take a treat from your hand. It must be some sort of protective mechanism but it sure looks

Cinnamon
They remind me of a shark when they bite - their eyes go all blank too

The Dogmother
Try another trick that I like showing people - when you massage their wattles, their pupils constrict and dilate with pleasure
fluffyknickers
Do they like that then? I was cuddling my most easy to handle (and bottom of the pecking order ) yesterday and touched her comb and wasnt sure if that was nice for her or not. So if I massage her wattles she should like this?
