Guest
I use my breadmaker every day, I didn't think I would, another gadget me too! We've had ours for 11 months now and I haven't bought any bread. I love it and it just part of our way of living now.
chrisnrob
I bought a Cookworks breadmaker There was a review of breadmakers in Which? magazine a few years ago (they may have done another since) and the winning machine was a Cookworks at £29.99 Rob
Charlottechicken
Thanks for posting that Rob, I feel doubly and a little now . I just hope it lasts as long as an expensive one
chrisnrob
I just hope it lasts as long as an expensive one If it only costs 1/3 of the price of a more expensive one to start with then you could have two of them wear out and still be in pocket Rob
Lesley
We started with a Prima - that cost very little and lasted around 5 years - we now have a Morphy Richards Fast Bake which was still not expensive and has lasted for 3/4 years. We use it around 5 times a week.

My mother is still using last weeks white loaf for toast, she says it is lovely . I hope I have bought my last shop loaf
Guest
You'll never eat shop bread again Claire I only had enough bread this morning to make Dan and the childrens sandwiches, so I had to buy a sandwich and it really was horrible You'll soon recoup the cost of your machine, mine has definitely earned its keep

Once our two girls start producing eggs and we start building demand locally then maybe I can successfully argue for further Omlet housing products Rob
chrisnrob
The breadmaker is on again doing a 50/50 wholemeal/white concoction If your breadmaker has a timer function then there is nothing nicer than putting the ingredients for something like a cinnamon and raisin loaf in the machine the night before and then waking up to the smell of it gently baking. Charlottechicken
Ta-Da! Cheap bread from a cheap breadmaker! I hard boiled some eggs so it's home made egg sandwiches for me for work! Sorry just noticed pic is a bit blurry, put it down to first wholemeal loaf frenzy

Budgies
Just a quick return to the breadmaker theme for anyone who's interested! I bought the Panasonic blah de blah one with the fruit and nut dispenser as recommended by so many lovely people on this forum! Here we are over 6 months later, and we use it all the time! The bread is amazing, so much nicer and more flavoursome than the shop bought cardboard tat! We've tried several of the different recipes, all of which have turned out well, and have a regular loaf that is our standard fayre. I would gladly give away my microwave, juicer, toaster or any other gadget, but never, never the breadmaker! Sue Budgie
Guest
It's been a success here too! Nearly 15 months now and it rarely has a day off.

Louise
I don't use mine as much as I sued to with my parents there my dad won't use unsliced bread I do still make my bread in it though I just have a cheap Morphy Richards basic one but I am thinking about getting a different one as I love it so much but it makes very skinny but tall bread if that makes sense so I would prefer to get one with a better shaped baking tin any suggestions
Guest
Panasonic SD253 every time!
The Dogmother
I've got the famous Panasonic SD253 with the nut/seed/raisin dispenser - I've had it a couple of years now and it makes lovely seeded loaves - big fat ones. When I was shopping around, the cheapest I found it was on Amazon. It's not the cheapest breadmaker onthe market, but the quality is superb and it has a brilliant recipe booklet. I usually make a white loaf with local organic flour and loads of omega seeds (pumpkin, linseed and sunflower). The timer means that I can wake up to fresh bread in the morning. Shame you're so far away, or I'd lend you mine to road test. The raisin loaf is delish *Mmmmm*
