Steve.
Well the builder will be here at the weekend to make me a nice 2m x 6m concrete base for our Chooks. Which - if it all works out - means it may be time to get a Walk-in-Run. To offset the cost - I'd like to sell the Omlet Cube Run. It's the standard run, plus two extensions. I'd like a few hints on what it's worth, and whether anyone would buy it? Either piece by piece, or as a job lot. Thanks!
Olly
I don't want one ... but yes, I think you'll find they will sell. Only way to find out is to try putting it on the Marketplace thread! I've bought - and sold - Eglu run extensions, and the Cube is probably easier because you don't need the converter. I don't know what they extension sells for in the shop, but if I was buying second-hand I'd probably expect to pay 20-30% less than the shop price. quickcluck
I wondered where you'd been steve! Is all well with you and your chooks? I don't think you'll have a problem selling them. I'd try on here first, or good old ebay as mentioned!

poachedegg
I'd buy 2 of them .......however I'm too far away!
The Dogmother
I think the extensions go for around £100 each.
noyan
ordered my 1metre extention at the weekend plus extra frame, cost £130 new. if that gives you any help on what to sell for.
Steve.
Oh yes - the frame on it's own is £20, I'd forgotten about that! Grr - this is making a walk-in run too attractive Builder should be here at 5 to take a final look before delivering materials. 6m x 2m worth of slab, so I guess a 4m x 2m run would be massive ... quickcluck
Sorry to be thick but what's that in feet and inches???
Steve.
600cm x 200cm slab ... so 20 feet by 6.6 feet.
quickcluck
Ohhhhhhhhhh that the same size as our will be!!! How many chooks have you got at the moment? I bet you can't wait................... did they say how long it will take to do or are you doing the building bit yourself?
poachedegg
According to the shop the runs are £98 + p & p and includes an arch. So presumably if buying an extension a separate arch isn't necessary or is it?
Steve.
You only need one extra arch if you are going to do the run conversion. Just to update - the Run Extensions aren't for sale - though thank you for all the interest. I'll msg back the folks that have show interest and open a thread in the For Sale forum when they are available - many thanks all.
atsw
6m x 2m worth of slab, so I guess a 4m x 2m run would be massive ... No, not really. My run is 15ft x 6ft (4.5m x 1.8m), and is on a base of 400mm square slabs 5 deep by 13 along. Wickes sell a pack of 70 for approx £105 , which leaves you with 5 spare, just in case you break one or two . A run this size can easily accommodate an Eglu inside without taking out too much of the floors pace. Working on the 1 chook for each 1m2 run-space, the run will take up to 10 hens, as long as you have sleeping/nesting accommodation for them. Patricia W
So are you getting some more, Andrew?
atsw
So are you getting some more, Andrew? Yes, that is our long term plan. I don't want to give up the Eglu (they are so fab, and I like the look of them better than a cube), so numbers will be limited by that in the short term. Our old girl, Fifi, is getting to the end of her time on this earth, so once she passes on I'll be getting two more girls. My two Orps have grown into big girls, so only really room in the Eglu for a maximum of two more hens, especially as top of my list are two Light Sussex hens, which are also one of the larger sized breeds. Once that is sorted, I'll keep my eyes open for another Eglu ( is favorite right now) which will allow me to expand the flock further and help with the process of introductions. Patricia W
I love the eglu too. I just bought a pre-loved red eglu - still thinking what to put in it... but that's part of the fun!
