Barkisland
I took down the net last night, which was keeping my ex batts apart from the big girls. Clipped a wing on each, and this morning we set up our new electric fence and let them out to play for the first time. They are loving it - and so are we! My two ex batts were first out, no stopping them What a difference from 8 weeks ago...

Barkisland
Thanks No, it's not Omlet netting, I got it from http://www.electricfencing.co.uk/ It is slightly higher than most, I think. (120cms). It's lovely to see them out.

Chook n Boo Mum
Lovely pics Barkisland. My gang have been freeranging happily for a few weeks now, since one of the Orpies decided to launch herself into their run without invitation! For the last couple of evenings, I have shut the Battie girls into the WIR with the Chooks & Orpies to eat their tea, I'm toying with the idea of not opening the gate again & seeing if the Batties will take themselves off to bed in rather than taking the short stroll across the garden to go to bed in . Most of them are laying in the nestbox, so it isn't totally alien to them. They normally go to bed earlier than the big "dirty stop-outs", so I'm interested to see what they do. At the mo they are alternating between a sweep of the many food bowls and standing at the gate to go out to bed!! I suppose I could go & put the into the WIR for now, so they have their own bed to snuggle into.....where's DH when I need him?!
