LMW was busy this afternoon sowing seeds in her little veggie patch (it's 3ft x9ft) she has sown peas, lots of carrots, parsnips, mixed lettuce leaves and spinach. She has watered them carefully and we've covered them in plastic cloches to keep the chooks and other birds off. She has also planted courgettes and strawberry seeds in pots in the conservatory (not to mention some cress as well). She loves growing her own veg, but hasn't had much success to date. This year the veg patch was well dug and the chooks have inspected it for bugs :D . Hopefully the warm weather will continue.

Every day there is more and more coming up. The strawberry bed I made a few weeks ago is doing well and the plants are getting nice and bushy 8)

I planted parsnip seeds on the 30th March with radish markers in between. So far the radishes are up, but no sign of the 'snips :( On a positive note, the carrots are making an appearance after 3 weeks :D:D:D

Now, I have one bed approx. 1m x 2m, that is is shade for most of the day, gets some sun in the morning. It has a huge conifer above it, so is quite dry. Have filled it my lots of chickeny aubiose. Any ideas for planting? I have a few raspberry canes in there at the moment, but they didn't do too well last year, so plan to did them up.

I could spend all day in my veggie garden!

:D:D:lol:

My tomatoes germinated relatively quickly, but have since sat, with two seed leaves, for ages. Will they EVER grow bigger???!!! I keep telling them scary stories about the little plant who didn't grow (who got eaten by a chicken) but it's not making any difference. Stupid plants!

My radishes are up, as are my carrots, my first earlies have been earthed up twice so far......

Pak choi is easy if you water it enough.

I get totally obsessed with checking on my 'babys'

Im running really late this year as we have been on hols for the two weeks prior to Easter.

I put some seeds in outside in pots and sorted my stawbs out before we left so we came home to some seedlings. I have just put in my tomato, chilli and cucumber seeds. They are on a sunny window sill and some in a heated propogator and im waiting  for something to happen.

I keep checking but nothing yet........ Im not very patient.

I love this time of year :D

We are running out of space on the windowsills in the conservatory now as they are all full of propagators! We've got three different tomato varieties, sweet peppers, peas, dwarf beans, borlotti beans, cabbages, two different varieties of squash, sunflowers, courgettes all growing well! Parsnips and carrots to go in at the weekend at the lottie. The first early potatoes are in and the peas we sowed a few weeks ago have all come up and are looking good! Three lots of onion sets and garlic growing well and the Swiss Chard hasn't stopped since we planted it last year! I LOVE growing veggies :D .

Pak choi grows well - it just has a tendency to go to seed. Just when you think it is almost ready - it shoots up and thats it finished. The hens will gobble it all up though - so no waste. This year I have sown lots for the girls - if it lasts for us then that's a bonus.

Love growing veg - so exciting when the little seedlings pop up - like treasure! The parsnips are always the "will they, won't they" seeds, and thankfully they are all popping through now.

All my cucumbers are now up, plus my Gherkins, which I have never grown before, my Sunflowers (free seeds from Gardeners World mag),Toms are gowing strong & the Courgettes are growing almost daily.

The only thing I have had zero pop ups from are the little lemon pips I sowed about 4 weeks ago :?
