Chook n Boo Mum
Lightly fry off some onions, mushrooms, bacon, (anything really!) add the cream, but don't boil it! Serve with pasta & green salad - yummy! Sha x

Chooks Aloud
I make mousse with single cream. Put the cream in saucepan with one bar of dark chocolate (70% being the minimum cocoa content) and gently heat until melted. Then just pour into very small containers and put in the fridge. Once set, decorate top with half a cherry or whatever you have in your cupboard. Whenever I'm entertaining I tend to make a couple of puds and this is always one that goes down very well indeed. Make sure you only put it in very small containers, as they are very rich. Karen
Chook n Boo Mum
Cooo, when's your next dinner party CA? I'll be there for a choc mousse! I daren't make it here, as I'd eat the lot - no matter how rich it is !!! Sha x
SAB
Back in the day I would have just supped it out the pot with a spoon! Glad I indulged when I could as now lactose intolerant - I never liked milk anyway, but gosh I miss cream!
Mrs Frugal
Any excess cream in this house gets added to the lovely rice pudding recipe posted by Surferdog here to replace some of the milk. When it's made with Muscovado sugar, it's absolutely divine too................mmmmmmm .
Happy chickens!
If you don't get to around to using it up quickly and it goes off...... then make scones! No seriously, my mum passed the tip on, just mix it half and half with the milk and you get really great scones, honest!
Chooks Aloud
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that!! It must be our upbringing, as my mum used to do the same. The things people waste and chuck away - when they could be used to make something tasty.
Blackrocksrock
I made mushroom soup with the left over cream I had and it was absolutely delicious even though I say it myself!
sunshinesupernova
I put lemon juice in milk to sour it for scones - so yes - I'd do that too.. OR Some butter, sugar plus the cream and make a glorious butterscotch sauce (with some booze if you fancy) and have with bananas and icecream ?
