Cyber Chook
My new little cat Tabitha went outside for the second time on Sunday morning. I went upstairs for five minutes. When I came back down, she shot back in to the kitchen from outside, wide-eyed and absolutely soaking wet and dripping everywhere. I suddenly remembered that we've got a water butt with a lid missing, which I've forgotten to replace, and realised she'd just fallen in. THANKFULLY it'd been raining a lot the previous few days, and it was full to the brim, so she'd been able to grab hold of the side of the butt and clamber out. It just doesn't bear thinking about if it hadn't been full

Old Speckled Hen
Glad she is OK. Just goes to show the trouble they can get to when they are out even for a short while. Heaven knows the temptations and dangers for cats out all the time. I'm sure she'll snuggle down all day now safe at home. Mine sleeps all day just venturing through the cat flap occasionally. ..lay a little egg for me
Lucky escape! That's one of her nine lives gone. Still she won't do that again. One of our kittens fell in the pond when fighting with his sister when he was about 8 months old. Has kept well clear since but gosh it took him a long time to dry himself off! He must have been licking himself clean for about an hour!
Karen & co.
Glad the little kitty got out My cat fell down the toilet once when she was tiny, and each time she pushed her back legs she went further down the U bend Luckily I was in the bathroom at the time, and have kept the toilet seat down ever since Karen x
Seagazer
Oh bless her - I bet she won't go near it now.

Cyber Chook
I've passed on all your good wishes You're right, she's decided she's going to be an indoor cat for now. No wonder there's the saying about cats and their nine lives. I didn't know whether to laugh or gasp in horror at your story about the toilet. I wonder do tabbies tend to end up, er, chunky? I once knew a very large tabby called Jarvis. He was a lovely boy, and so fat he kind of sploodged over the edges of the chair he used to lie on. Seagazer
You might have a point Cyber Chook. A couple of years ago at Sophie's check up, the vet said that she wouldn't like to see Sophie get any bigger! Soph can't help it if she's big boned
Tessa the Duchess
We used to have a tabby cat called Oscar. He was also known as 'the card table', he just grew fatter and fatter I suspect he was being fed somewhere else as well as at home Tessa
Cyber Chook
Ah yes, Seagazer, the old 'big boned' story... ...and of course not forgetting the 'slow metabolism', I'm guessing?
Chickvic
Ah yes, Seagazer, the old 'big boned' story... ...and of course not forgetting the 'slow metabolism', I'm guessing? That sounds like me - not the cat
Seagazer
I like to think I share some characteristics of my cat as well! I've definitely got a slow metabolism
Cyber Chook
Me too, what a coincidence. And I live on salads, and never eat chocolate. It's really a mystery.
