Chook n Boo Mum
Just finishing a project would be shock enough for me, without starting it on the same weekend as it was finished Well done Sally, it's lovely Sha x

Falkor
oooh pretty!!! Where do you all get the pretty fabrics from? I am itching to try patchwork but need an idea on where to start
bigmommasally
I've been buying from all over the place. I think you need to buy 100% cotton fabric. I've found some lovely ones on the tinternet too. http://www.cottonpatch.co.uk/acatalog/fabric.html Beware it is a very expensive hobby - every time I go into a fabric shop I'm spending at least £15 - but that is because I need to build up my stash - apparently it a legal requirement to have a big stash of fabric
Fizzle Knit
That is very pretty I'm planning to get started on some patchwork too - there are gorgeous fabrics around. You chose really well on yours.
Christian
- apparently it a legal requirement to have a big stash of fabric Yep, it's the law! Lovely cushion
Valkyrie
So pretty. I recommend Cotton Patch - they are really helpful there, although most of my fabric comes from the US. Some of them are British fabrics exported and then I get them sent back for much less, including post and packaging - even customs duty, but it all depends on the exchange rate and that is not good at the moment. Just as well I have a housefull of fabric. It all started with a pretty peachy one with little birdies that I saw on holiday, then I was hooked. I just have to use it all now! bigmommasally
Thanks Peeps Just started on my 3rd one - its a crazy nine patch - finding it a bit hard to cut through 9 squares of fabric in one go though!
Plum
Sounds like a project for all of us
bigmommasally
Oooo yes you should all make one along with me. There's a great tutorial to make a crazy nine patch quilt here: http://allsorts.typepad.com/allsorts/2006/10/crazy_about_qui.html but I'm just doing it as a cushion. I've also only done my squares 6.5 inches which I think should then give me finished squares of 5 inches each, I then plan to add a border of 1.5 inches to give a finished cushion size of 18inches. Well that's the plan whether it turns out like that remains to be seen.

bigmommasally
I was petty impressed with it too wild mum. I have added a sewing room to my wish list on my dream house now. Just need the right lotto numbers to come up now. Have a look at the stash of fabric on this site (make sure you scroll down) - it belongs to Judy Martin - Amazing I love the way she has all her completed quilts hanging - they're not even on display http://www.judymartin.com/Sewing-Room-Judy.cfm
