Mother's Day is coming up in America. They do it later than us.

 

To 'celebrate', the cakewrecks blog has posted some truly bizarre mother's day cakes.

 

I thought the first one was a cow skull belt buckle. I think I may be wrong.

 

The second one I do not completely understand. Why would you put your baby in a designer bag?

It's from a film called Mommie Dearest .....depicts the abusive and traumatic adoptive upbringing of Christina Crawford at the hands of her mother...screen queen Joan Crawford

I haven't seen Mommie Dearest. I was thinking, given the baby was in a bag, that the prospective parents were thinking of giving it away, leaving it on a doorstep etc. Hence the thank you from the child, who made the cake, for not doing that. Then I thought, what unsavoury thing do people do with coathangers when they don't want a baby and don't live near a special clinic? (shudders).

 

So wrong on so many levels, that cake.
