BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
hi all i took receipt of my new allotment this last week, its abolutely massive, it is a new development in the village of a previous agricultural tie land, the farmer came and rotivated it with a tractor, and we have our section which is great. i have spent about 6 hours the last couple of days preparing the soil, planting out. i have done so far, 2 beds of onions, 3 rows of potatoes (different varieties), french beans, cabbage, cauli, brussels - i have yet to plant leeks when ready, carrots, parsnips, mange tout and sugar snaps, leaving a little left over for some strawberries. at the bottom of the old paddock, there is a spare bit of land (quite a bit really) - i have been told that i can use this if required to raise anything - so my thought was either get a couple of pigs, or raise table birds?, my neighbour is willing to share this side, and he has loads of previous farming experience - still undecided. but yet so excited. Blackrocksrock
Sounds idyllic and raising a pig or two and table birds could be a possibility for you and your nightbour and could be very nice You have been lucky that it was rotovated over for you already and you could start straight away too good luck
Ain't Nobody Here
Congratulations . Sounds like you've been busy . I've got the veg growing bug as well now - but my family try to sidle off sideways when I'm waxing lyrical about the latest shoot that's appeared .
