Lesley
We don't have a Christmas cake because I don't like it - nor mince pies, although i do make some of those for the others as they are quick - a Christmas cake takes ages I do make chutney though - Apple and Orange and NO raisins/sultanas/squashed flies in it!!! The Dogmother
Yup! As in Garibaldi biscuits - you're too young to remember, I don't think they make them any more.
One Man Banned
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! Kate commented earlier that she wouldn't be making a Christmas Cake as the boys won't eat one. I had a little idea that I have asked Kate that I'm sure most of us will happily help! Kate has kindly said she would make a cake for us and raffle it at the Jimmy's Farm get together! Thanks Kate! now, how many people think it could be Dan's winning day again!
Mrs Frugal
Looking through all my recipes as I type, Andrew! Thanks for giving me an excuse to bake a cake . I can go whole hog and decorate it too !

Cate in NZ
What a brilliant idea Andrew, and thanks Kate for agreeing to it. It sounds as if someone's going to win a lovely Christmas cake this year Since I never win anything I think I'll still make my own anyway
The Dogmother
Are we doing a raffle then? If so, can we ban Dan to give us others a chance? I'll have to find a prize now

The Dogmother
If I win it, I shall donate it back - no disrespect to your lovely cake Kate, but none of us like Christmas cake (well, Rosie loves the icing, but that's it)

Guest
He might win, it but if it has nuts in/on he will have to give it back as he is extremely allergic to them Me, on the other hand love nuts, especially covered in chocolate
