We're all planning walk in runs! PART 2!

Have you lot been talking?

:?

He's just come in and I was in the bath. He came up and started talking to me been thinking about ways that we could keep the ducks in the comfort that they had become accustomed to. He then asked how much Tony would charge for a WIR at the side of the house.

I found a few construction pics of my WIR my mum had taken of my dad hard at work several weeks ago, thought you may be interested.

Second half going in (Useful for intros, hospital wing etc

Apex part of roof going up

Supports for plastic unduline sheets are up

The plastic roof is up now so I'm weatherproof at last - i just don't have any pics of that yet. Next my dad wants to make a built-in mezzanine instead of the table with perches under and above it. He's a bit handy really!

Well, Aviaries4U did have something to do with it too, but we ordered a custom sized run to fit the shape I had available, so Dad had to do a LOT of fidling about - he even built in a panelled door so i can get down the side of the shed if i have to (Previous ratty problems you see). He said the A4U section was easy, but the rest has been tricky - especially the roof.

Bless him though, he's done a very good job.

Poor Tony is juggling designs to fit with my wierd space at the side of the house....poor man. Just a word of warning to those considering a 'Tony' run...he is going VAT registered at the end of October so his runs will be subject to VAT after that time.

Might be worth getting your orders in now if your pondering.

We don't really want ours until the warmer weather next year. Tony has said that we can order before the end of October and pay the deposit and he'll build the run when we want it. We have had the quote and hubby is in agreement so it looks like run number two next year.

He is chuffed with the ducks tonight as they are finally trained in the art of going to bed themselves when I say 'bedtime'! He says that we can't rehome such clever ducks.

:lol: he is very right

My hubby is now planning to errect a permanent wire fence to segregate the girls rather than this netting, as although it's keeping the chooks out (most of the time) it doesn't keep assault course dogs out  The little one Suzi has taught Jessie the larger Spaniel where the weak areas are..:lol::shameonu:

I will post a pic when he has done it. :D I am also getting a wooden store for all my bits and pieces but thats been on the agenda a while

The garden is coming together and the girls (chooks) love watching my boys (children) on the trampoline :lol::lol:

I've ordered it!!! YAY!!! Le Monsieur has been working on levelling and paving an area of the garden, but Janty's news about the VAT has spurred me on, and I've just ordered my run!!! 8):D8):D

Maybe now that we have a fixed deadline, he will get a move on - not that I'm not very grateful about the work he has been putting into the garden, but he's definitely that kind of man who will dawdle forever without a set date in sight

It will be 21ft x 9 ft, with internal doors for integration/ hospital purposes. I'm so excited! I have also ordered it with the 16 gauge weldmesh, because of the badgers that live at the top of the garden. Not that they've ever shown any interest in the chickens, but I wouldn't like to tempt fate.

Tony mentioned that although he will be charging VAT, his prices will only go up by about 6% - he said he will swallow the remaining cost rise himself, and that also he can claim some if it back on his raw materials. And as Janty says, if the order is put in before the end of the month, delivery can be postponed. I don't think I couldn've faced that though  Once the order is in, I want it NOW! I don't know how I am going to face the next few weeks :shock:

Wow, that is huge LaPoule! I'm looking at a modest 2m x 3m, I must go out and remeasure the space as I want to be certain I've got it right, but I won't get a chance to do that in daylight until Friday (theoretically it's possible to do it before work, but the chance of that happening is zero).

How exciting, I must get the order in this week.
