Just been to Bravissimo

Recommended Posts

...........and found out that I am not a DD cup but an FF, as is my daughter :roll::lol:

Several purchases later & we are all set up in proper comfy bras 8)

It was well worth the trip to London - the staff were great & its something I have wanted to do for a very long time 8)

It is nearer in miles, but its simpler by train to go to London really.

It was nice & easy to find thanks to Witchazel & her advice :D

We actually went to the Oxfod street branch as its theri flagship store, but I will probably pop to the Ealing one next time, which is a stop sooner 8)

Good for you, a well fitting bra makes all the difference.

After the previous thread on bras I went to Debenhams to be fitted and the girls there was great. the last time I was measured was about 3 years ago in M&S and they took me down from a 36C to a 38B and thinking back I haven't been comfortable since. Debenhams measured me at 38C but when she fitted me she said I was a 36D and at last real comfort and bras that don't let it all hang out so to speak. For the first time in ages I look and feel much better.

I took my eldest daughter during half term as she was popping out of her bras, she was wearing a 34D, and now has everything held in place in her new 32F's :lol: she cost me a fortune, I've given her strict instructions not to sling them in the washing machine.

My turn next week as the boys were stood outside going like this :roll:

Bravissimo are seriously good. Don't laugh but I had been suffering with aches and pains in my neck and shoulders, although I had had my bras fitted before...but with new bras from Bravissimo they all disappeared...but you are apparently meant to go every six months for new bras....mmm failing on that rather badly

I'm a Bravissimo addict too- I shop online with them now I've had a proper fitting at a local posh lingerie shop. As my diet has left me a 32E its a sensible choice! Can I say their strappy tops in cup sizes are excellent too, and the online purchases are as beautifully packed as the shop-bought ones.

I treated myself to one of Bravissimo's dresses at the weekend, the gretian trim jersey type :D

Since the prolactinoma episode and the resulting 2 cup size increase, none of my favourite dresses looked smart anymore. :(

For ages I've been wearing blouses and jumpers 2 sizes larger to compensate for my larger bust size, but my skirts and trousers were still OK as hips and tum stayed the same

Now that I've discovered the curvy, and really curvy dress sizes I know that the shop will have just what I want in the perfect size

The 'happy straps' they sell are a useful item too :)

I have never been measured for a bra. It's always been pure guess work, but now I am thinking I really should. Hmm wonder where our nearest bravissimo is?

Do you have to physically flop them out for the shop assisstant or do you keep your bra on whilst being measured?

What are the average prices at bravissimo? I'd like about 4 new bras.

That's what I like about Bravissimo. You just try different sized bras on until you find one that fits :D they will also bring out lots of different styles and colours. I went in a 40 DD and came out 38 HH  Bras cost an about of £25 - £30 but again well worth it! :D

They are fab aren't they, I love their tops with the built in bras :D

I'm tempted to print this thread out for my sister in law as I took her to Bluewater today to get an outfit for my daughters wedding having already suggested she got proper bra fitting done and she refused, we then spent a frustrating afternoon where she couldn't find anything she liked that fitted her. She just wears one type of bra that is comfy but is really unflattering, I told her that she should treat herself as we need different types of bras for different clothes but she still refused :wall:

I was really quite upset because I know she could look and feel so much better & find it easier to get clothes that fit nicely.

You do have to strip down Craftyhunnypie, but they don't measure - its all done by eye 8)

They have a great selection too.

We have come home & ordered our bras in other colours, as it was easier than lugging a big bag around London.

My girl needed a halter neck bra to wear with her prom dress. She went in a 34DD & came out a 30FF

Funnily enough we have both got the same bra - its called Zara I think & is in a nude colour, but a really pretty more pink nude, & it is satiny fabric,so quite glam too 8)

I have got her a bright turquoise halter neck top from there too, which has a built in bra :D

Do they do matching undies aswell? I will only wear matching sets (sad but true!)

I was a 36D when I was last measured, some of my M&S bras are OK but some others are a squeeze, so I suspect I might be different now.

Would be worth me calling in as I'm in London in a few weeks time.
