Does anybody else ever feel...... PART 2

Recommended Posts

All aboard 14.gif we're going on a whistle stop tour of the forum then off to Omletsville and then popping across the ocean to see Angels4 and find out why he's not been on here. :D

Sorry  I haven't been here for a while because we are having internet issues on the island, seems something crashed and has cause service interuptions to my whole community. Luckily though I'm working in Maine this week and have been able to get on a limited amount of time. I'm stressing out because EVERYTHING I do is done through the internet, banking, my scheduling, it's funny (not ha ha funny) just how much we have become reliant on our computers.

Howdie Mark nice to see you again. As you can see we've been carrying on - and what a carry on we've had! Er, was it Plum's spaceship that crashed into the lines?

Hi peeps, sneaked back (it's the call of The Hills for DD and old fogey - who just happens to be my toy boy being 5+ years younger than me - has taken himself off to bed). WHOOHOO!

Hey, I found a Stargate beam me up thingy transporter.

Cor, it's taken ages to load up - still not finished and I've played solitaire quite a few times. I think Mark's gremlins are visiting.

Anyhoo would this be young Em at the helm by any chance?

I can see why you probably had a little close shave there! What are those arms doing?

Oh and I found Mark on his Harley too.

Helloooo Peepsies

Guess what? We are waiting for the Doc to phone back(I phoned at 8.30 on the dot) . All I can say is that they are probably running around like headless chickens or drawing lots. Guess who was at Exeter Uni last week? Guess who has a very bad cold and temperature fluctuations? Guess what news alert came up at the bottom of the screen on Sky? Exeter Uni has 10 cases of swine flu. DS, happily sleeping upstairs is unaware that he may be grounded - with the rest of us - I can imagine his delight. Typical - today is shopping day and the fridge is empty! OH isn't happy that we haven't heard from the docs - good job it isn't the plague! Oh, and we called NHS direct only to be told on a recorded message that we would get a call in 4 hours and we could call our own doctor or NHS direct??!!! :eh:

Called DD's college - they are quite happy for her to stay here.

On a brighter note, the sun is shining.

I've just a phone call from the doc covering the same thing! I have been off work with vertigo and over the last few days have developed 'flu like symptoms. I work in a school and my head has asked me to have a swab taken. Doc has refused  said they've only swabbed those who have had direct contact with it and displayed the same symptoms. He also said that none of those swabs have come back positive. He's signed me off for another week and told me to rest and keep taking the vertigo tablets. I'm quite happy with that  and just hope the vertigo disappears!

Amazing isn't it. I rang back and was told by a very snotty lady (the first one was really nice) that she couldn't possibly tell me when the doc would call because he was busy consulting. OH rang and spoke to NHS direct - again. Hmmm. It basically sounds as though he has a cold (DS was a tad cross at being woken up to speak to the man on the phone) and we were told to look at the symptoms on the internet (some of which he had but apparently he has made a miraculous discovery since getting the shivers yesterday and the flu at the uni was last week so he HASN'T GOT IT and SWINE FLU DOESN'T EXIST!!). So there we are. The docs aren't interested (which is why it has likely spread), so we shall do our normal activities and just behave normally (if possible  ) with regard to cleanliness.

Just to prove he is fine, Dr DS has gone out. I don't think we would be able to quarantine him even if he had it - he knows better than everyone else.18.gif

So were we overreacting?
