TAJ
I have 'gone large' for when we are away. The new water container (red & white) is fantastic it hold 18 litres, it is slightly more complex than the normal upside down containers in that it has a valve, but for its volume it takes up little more space than the 4 litre one that use to stand in this corner. It is a new line from flytesofancy and can be hung, if you have something that will stand the weight of so much water. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2371.jpg You could probably see in the last photo as well, in the middle of the run, hanging from the central support bar from a new S hook (another new stock item, but sold for hanging the bordem ring) is a 6 kg feeder and as it is in the middle no rain can get to it from any angle. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii49/TAJchicks/IMG_2372.jpg Oh and the 'soap-on-a-rope' thing is the trial replacement for peckablocks - supposed to last longer, so I had to try one didn't I even though I still had a box of 10 peackablocks left For those that have seen my intros thread will understand why there is no room for chickens due to the number of food & water stations at present! Redwing
That water container is great, most of them can't be filled from the top so that one is I also have a soap on a rope, it seems to be going down well so far and has lasted a week with only a few dents! Janty
I like the idea of a water container that can be filled from the top too. Looks great.
Cooks
I like the idea of a water container that can be filled from the top too. Looks great. I agree, I hate my water container that fills from the bottom, although I only have that as an additional drinker in the garden just incase they are thirsty when freeranging. The Dogmother
I like that drinker Tracy. I've seen those soap on a rope peckers too and will get one at the weekend - there are also some big, solid pecker balls which look like they will last for years. It's here: http://www.flytesofancy.co.uk/chickenhouses/Large_Plastic_Poultry_Drinker_18_litre.html £22.49 - which I think is really cheap for an 18litre and it is pretty sturdy.
